great spicy curry (lunch entree #6). I met a friend there for lunch today, and it was really busy. But the food was great, and so were the prices. The service was quick for the lunch rush.
This is the Best Bangkok Has to Offer?. I've eaten here a few times while staying at the nearby Hotel Triton. The first time I thought it was good, but during the two return trips, I was underwhelmed. It's the only Thai restaurant I've known to screw up Pad Thai. The dining room is pretty, with soft colors and Asian decor, and the staff is nice. Just one question: could you get the tables any closer?
excellent after work restaurant.... I went to the restaurant after work on a wednesday and found the service & food to be excellent. The staff was very attentive & the food came quickly & tasted incredible. I had the panang chicken (recommended curry dish) and mixed vegetables. From someone who has vacationed in Thailand, this helped me reminisce about my travels (something that is nice after a hellish day at work).
Non-tasty Thai. Bangkok Best has some of the worst Thai food in San Francisco. Everything tastes the same and there is not even a hint of the subtle taste nuances that are typical of Thai cuisine. The service is on a par with the poor food.
Tasty Thai. Great curry and thai basil chicken. Sauces are excellent, and quantity/quality are usually very good. Good luck getting your appetizer before the main course though.
