Really Great Service; Good Pride. I have a 1973 Cougar XR7 and had the transmission replaced in New York in April. I moved to SF in May and soon thereafter, the transmission started jerking and wouldn't hold the car in park on a hill. (Unfortunately, the place that fixed it in NY has no outlets here in CA, so the "warranty" was worthless.)

I took it into Automatic Transmission. They were prompt and fixed the problem for under $200. Ken was really great to work with. I recommend them highly.

5620 Mission They Will Fix Your Transmission !. I was not happy with the original 3-speed automatic transmission in my restored 1978 Corvette, RPMs were too high at freeway speed and overall performance was uninspiring. After reading their 5 star reviews on Yelp - and singing along to the ridiculously catchy jingle for 20 years - I decided to hire Automatic Transmission Center to replace the 3-speed transmission with a modern 4-speed.

The new tricked out 700RH transmission does everything I wanted - at 65 m.p.h. the engine is at 2k r.p.m.s now, instead of 3k or 3.5k. A very good thing when gas is $4 a gallon ! And overall performance is much better ! Quiet, smooth, lots more pickup !

Mike, Ken and the techs are all very professional, very nice, very cool. Couldn't be happier with ATC, especially considering my cost was $1,000 less than estimates from two other shops

As everyone says, they are good !. My Lincoln's transmission started slipping, so I took it to this shop because it has a lot of good customer review on the web. As everyone says, Mike at the office is very professional and knowledgeable, and explains to you the process and estimated cost upfront in clear and easy to understand way.

Because my transmission had an internal mechanical problem, I ended up paying higher end of the estimate.

But judging from their professional attitude, I'm certain that I received a good reliable repair work in return and I'm very satisfied with it.

Also, Mike neatly and precisely tri-folds your paper work and puts it in the folder for you !

(that I've never seen at any repair shop)

I guess I got the same kind of precise repair work on my car.

BEST AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHOP. excellent service. personel extremely helpful & non-intimidating. they go the extra mile(literally) for the customer. i had a problem getting san francisco toyota to honor a warranty on the ecm. they claimed it was not defective & i needed a transmission replacement at the cost of $4800, plus the $152 they charged to tell me this. i then took the car to mike at automatic transmission. he test drove it & diagnosed it as having a defective ecm. he then took it to city toyota in daly city & test drove it with the service manager, who agreed to replace the ecm under warranty, NO COST. i now have my car back, running fine, thanx to mike.

Count on their warranty, anyway.. I have to give these guys a lot of credit. They stand by their work rain or shine. They rebuilt my girlfriend's transmission, and it turned into one of those nightmare jobs that kept coming back for mystery problems, because German cars do that, don't you know. It might be their fault; it might not.

I anticipated quarrels and red tape and fees, but they've taken the car in under warranty several times now, pleasant as can be, and replaced stuff for free that has to have more than eaten through the profit they made on the rebuild. I mean the whole valve body, and the whole governor assembly. Many hundreds of dollars' worth of stuff covered. Ken in the front office has been very helpful the whole time. They're really busy, and don't turn over very fast, but I always get an informative update within a few days.

Now, I'd probably be happier if they got the thing fixed a hundred percent the first time, but it's a real relief knowing that if something does go wrong they'll put this much effort into making it right.
