As neighborhood pizza joints go, Goat Hill stacks up just fine. Don't go looking for fancy, just good, straight-up pizza.

Very Average. I ordered a large take out pie and I found it limp and lack of robust flavours, a fluke I thought. Based on another reviewers reccomendation I went on a Monday night for sampling-fest. I was right the first time, the pizza simply lacks a good crust, cheese, and sauce. Having lived in Boston, Chicago, and NY, I know pizza is not all created equal and this place is a let down. I'll just call it grub.

Nice view of SF though.

Sourdough crust, fresh toppings and a gorgeous city view make this Potrero Hill eatery the ultimate neighborhood pizza joint.. Everything here is just a notch nicer than it needs to be--red-checked tablecloths are made from real cloth and the back room boasts a twinkling view of city lights. No wonder locals flock here with families and co-workers, making for a sometimes boisterous atmosphere. Service is friendly, but can be spotty when it's busy. Though medium-thick, crisp-chewy sourdough crust forms a terrific base for fresh, homemade tomato sauce, it's generous toppings that distinguish these irresistible pies. The large selection draws from a traditional list, including Italian sausage, artichoke hearts and pineapple. But innovative specials, such as sun-dried tomatoes paired with pesto and feta cheeses, give an intensely flavored jolt to classic pizzas. Rich, cheesy lasagna comes in meat and vegetarian versions, as do tender ravioli. Health-focused diners will enjoy the chef's salad, a huge pile of greens loaded with garbanzo and kidney beans, salami and mozzarella and provolone cheeses.

Best Pizza so far.... I haven't found the best pizza place in SF yet, but Goat Hill is pretty good. We get it delivered at work sometimes. We get several varieties, but my favorite so far is the Chicken Florentine. It's yummy, but make sure you don't leave spinach in your teeth!

Goat Meat instead of chicken ???. I ordered a take out large pizza from this place and it was really bad. I dont know where to begin. The pizza was terrible over all. The chicken was obviously old and had absolutely no flavor. There was lots of brown meat as well. The pesto tasted fishy. I do not mean to be terribly harsh, but this place was a waste of money, with only 4 toppings, it cost nearly 30 dollars! There are far better places to go.

Average Pizza. For anyone that thinks this pizza deserves anything higher than a 7 out of 10, they've never had really good pizza... This pie was extremely similar to a standard pie found at any 'house of pizza' around the US. Spiced up sauce to cover up low quality tomatoes, grande cheese, standard toppings, crust was pretty good but didn't make up for the rest of the pizza.

It must be local San Francisco pride for their sourdough that is pushing the ratings on this shop so high.

Best Pizza EVER. I moved to San Francisco about a year ago, and I've eaten a lot of pizza since then...this is not only the best pizza I've had in SF, but the best pizza I've had ever! The crust is perfect, the seasonings are delicious...I've never had anything like it!

Not for the traditionalists. It's something about the crust: the sourdough is different, but nothing to write home about. I've always had delivery: the stuff comes fast and hot. Lots of toppings to choose from. The pizzas are not "wet," ie the cheese is not goopy and sliding off, but instead almost seem a bit dry. And like SF in general, pizzas here are somewhat expensive. Try it, you might like it: it just don't think it's my thing.

User review by stevespicks. Fantastic pizza pie! I have also had the spaghetti dinner and was not dissapointed. Although it seems like a locals spot, it doesnt get much easier and better than this if you are looking for a simple and enjoyable pizza dinner.

Simply the Best. This is the best pizza I've ever had. The "Greek Special" is wonderful. Monday nights all you can eat is always exciting. Nothing can compare.
