A classic since the first dot-com days. Enjoy Caribbean bites in their diminutive courtyard.
Solid, satisfying Caribbean food served in an enclosed patio creates charm in SoMa..
In Short
The tiny storefront hides a sheltered, heated patio that awaits diners in the back of this urban oasis. Outside, colorful table settings and sun umbrellas fill up quickly during brunch hours. Island music completes the mood as city folk fill up on Caribbean and American salads, sandwiches, grilled plates and egg dishes. The house specialty is the jerk chicken, washed down with a fresh mojito.
Excellent fries with dipping sauce best in town.
rotating specials (espacially the fish) are excellent.
top 3 must try's are :
1. jerk chicken sandwich with french fries (those dipping sauce and fries are soo good).
2. caribbean style lamb in plate or as a sandwich/pita.
3. savory black bean pancakes
Completely awesome!. Primo Patio: excellent food, good menu variety. And everything's delicious, from the sublime grilled snapper sandwich and decadent snaps and fries to a tasty jerk chicken to pita wraps and salads, it's all there and it's all good. The staff is friendly, helpful and they recognize regulars quickly. The patio is comfortable, welcoming, and laid back. I've always had great experiences here. I love it and can't wait to go back! Wish it was in my 'hood, that's the only thing that could improve on it.
Oasis by the Ballpark. What a fabulous place! You have to try the Jerk Chicken, I could live on it! The appetizers are all healty portions of great things from all over the Carribean. Make sure to pick up a Rally Pop (Tootsie Pop) from Chris on the way out. The patio is heated, comfy, and cozy.
Great Food and Atmosphere. I just found out about this hidden gem near the ballpark. Great food - I love the Jerk Chicken Sandwich and Snaps/Fries (e.g. fish'n'chips). The best part is their dipping sauce for everything. Their outdoor patio (which is the only place you can sit) is nice and sunny. Definitely not health food but who cares. Don't forget your free Tootsie Roll sucker on the way out...
Good Eats, Cheap Beer!. Two people can have a great meal and beers at Primo for $20. That alone should be a draw, but add outdoor seating, easy-going owners, and a can't-miss menu, and you've got a local favorite. Be sure to try the snaps and fries, a Caribbean version of fish and chips; the spicy corn cake; and the leg of lamb. And if you're going to the Giants game afterward, remember to grab a Rally Pop!
Best Secret Spot. Hardly anyone in SF knows about this spot, but it is one of my absolute favorites in the city! The food is excellent, the portions are HUGE and the service is fast. Don't be fooled by the dive-looking entrance, just go straight out to the patio and you won't be disappointed.
Consisty Crave It!. I don't know what magical ingredients they use, but every dish I've had has been delicious. I particularly recommend the jerk chicken sandwich and the hot wings. The house sauce is fabulous, and I can never get enough. Lemonade is so-so, tastes a bit watered down, but it still hits the spot. Fries are awesome. I'm headed there now...
