I brought my dogs to k9to5 when I lived in San Francisco for a year and they loved it - the staff did a great job matching each dog to the appropriate play groups - one higher energy group for the rambunctious dogs and the other group a more relaxed, sensitive-type play group. Shannon -the owner of K9to5 - is highly accessible, friendly, and knowledgeable. Because she and her staff know their dog behavior, clients feel at ease leaving their beloved pooches in such a safe environment. Having worked in the dog day care field, I am keenly aware that it's important to cater to both dogs and their caretakers, and K9to5 does just that - I couldn't have been happier with them!
Pros: Friendly staff, well-socialized dogs, they take time to play with dogs and keep the place clean.
Cons: Stuck in a back alley (but safe!), busy (so customer service can suffer on occasion)

I am a small business woman, mother and dog-owner. K9to5 was the worst customer service I have ever received. First, they took weeks to return my calls. Second, you have to pay $25.00 to set up an appointment for your dog to be interviewed. The only interview times are between 11 to 2 pm. Although the time is terrible for me, I set up an appointment for for 11:30 am, packed baby and dog in the car, got lost on the way there (they are inconveniently located down an alley in SOMA.) I was running 10 minutes late and called for clarification when I was a block away and they told me not to bother to come in. "You are already "like-ah" 20 minutes late so we'll have to cancel," was the terse reply I received. I explained that i was literallyh a block away, a first time customer and incredulously asked whether their business couldn't accomodate 15 minutes, they said, "Um, like, ahh- no. So yeah?" Ridiculously expensive, bad attitude, horrible customer service and "like, ahh" kids running the space. Take better care of your pooch and yourself and avoid K9to5.
