Skilled trainer, but very little personal attention. The first couple of classes were great - fun for the humans and the dogs as well as informative. Things digressed from there. Shannon's approach to her Puppy I class does not take into consideration the individual personalities of the dog or its owner. It is a one-size-fits-all approach that did not really work for us and our goals for our dog. I know this is not entirely the fault of the trainer as 6 one-hour sessions is probably not enough time to give each dog the individual attention required. And Shannon was very responsive to questions and e-mails outside the classroom. But the class turned out to be a waste of time for us after the first 3-4 visits.
training people as well as training doggies.
We adopted a traumatized mixed breed 1-year-old who was afraid of the world. We had a difficult time acclimating him to his new world and although he came to love and trust us pretty quickly in his house and his own yard, anything beyond that really scared him.
Perfect Paws was *exactly* what *we* needed as his family: socialization, confidence, communication skills, happiness, and fun! David Roos has a great sense of humor and a clear training style. He changed our lives by teaching us how to communicate with our little guy and helping our doggie gain skills to communicate with us.
The classes involve practice and many references to real-world situations ... and help with living in a city with a doggie citizen. We were so nervous when we started but so happy when it was done.
Thank you for making life so much better for our family!
