Great Customer Service. We went with a group of family and friends of about 30 or so people. The service was excellent. The waitress was attentive and made sure we were enjoying our meal. Although the bar service was a bit slow, I would recommend this restaurant to my friends. The view is excellent and the prices are even better. In my opinion, the wait staff really seemed to enjoy their job and it showed in the service we received. I will be going back again!

Way too much Garlic and slow service. My wife and I ate at Palomino on the evening of 12/8/07 and found the service slow and the food had way too much Garlic. The slow service was from the Bar of all places. We ordered two glasses of wine before we ordered food and did not get them until the main entree arrived. The waiter appologized several times and said the bar was backed up.

Not Kid Friendly At All - Lousy Service. Went with my wife and 18 month old. We thought it would be a nice evening at a nice restaurant that may cater to kids since they advertised they had a kid's menu. We got there around 5:15 pm on a Saturday and were seated promptly. There were not many patrons and it was not even half full. One look at their kid's menu and you can tell someone did not put a lot of thought behind it. First, they charge $6.95 which is rather high for what they were offering kids. Secondly, there were misspelled words in the menu.

It took nearly an hour to get our food after we ordered! When we had asked the waiter about our food, he explained there were two large parties going on. Keep in mind that the restaurant looked half full at the time we ordered. Try to imagine what an 18 month old will start doing after an hour of no food strapped into a booster seat. Needless to say, neither my wife and I got to enjoy the food so I couldn't really tell you if it was good or bad. We were also never offered a mystery envelope with coupons for $$$ off our next visit, which was OK by me. My wife and I were just happy the meal was over and we can get out of there before 7:30 pm. We had no intentions of returning any time soon.

nice place. We along with what seems like everyone in SF received a $20 gift card in the mail. I've been here before for happy hour and have always had a nice time but never tried their food. We arrived and our waiter Ian was great and very knowledgeable on the menu. We were pleased with the appetizers and salads. I had the kobe ravioli which was ok, but i wouldn't order it again. My boyfriend had the mahi mahi with clams and it was a super boring dish. No sauce, not flavor just very bland. Probaby very healthy though but lacked any really exciting taste. I would go back for drinks and appetizers but would skip the main course. The restaurant is in a great location though and has a nice decor and atmosphere.

Won't go again. My husband I, with $20 gift card in hand, went to try this place out last night and were really disappointed. For a place in such a great location, the food shoud have been a lot better. He got the chicken parm, and I the capellini pomodoro, and we both agreed that better versions of both are availale at the Olive Garden. Everything was slick with oil and overly garlic-y. Not impressed at all.

Best wait person. We went on night of the $20. gift card expired and it was crowded, we were seated within 5 min.. Obviously none of the other reviewers had the waitress we did, her name is Molly and she was terrific, you'd never know she was extremely busy with a full restaurant, she was friendly, talkative, efficient and never acted like she was doing us a favor. My husband ordered the spaghetti w/Kobe beef meatballs and I ordered the Lobster ravioli, when she brought our food she apologized because the kitchen had made the Kobe beef ravioli for my husband, she said she would take if back if he wanted and he said no, he'd have the ravioli, she told us dessert would be on the house. The food was excellent, my husband had the warm pear bread pudding and it was very large and delicious, we didn't leave hungry, the portions were very generous.

I would have never gone to Palomino as we usually don't go way downtown to eat, but I'm glad they sent us the gift card and we definitely will go back. I was in awe of the view and I live here, I can imagine what tourists think. We will be repeat customers, I've already told a couple friends about Palomino.

If you read this review and want to try Palomino, ask to sit in Molly's area.

Good food but HORRIBLE service. The food is good here, but I personally think service is just as important. Initially, our server was friendly and helpful. However, after we ordered, we presented a $20 gift card, and his attitude changed completely. From then on, he was unhelpful, slow, rude, and he was rather cold to us. He even argued with me when I told him that he had overcharged us for a bowl of portabella soup and some apple juice. He never brought us bread until we asked (we saw every other waiter bringing bread to their patrons). There were 5 adults and 1 child. Two of us ordered the 3-course under $20 menu items. They were supposed to include coffee or tea, but at the end of the meal, he never offered them. The other three of us ordered salads, an entree, and dessert. If he was concerned that the $20 gift card was going to affect his tip or something, the cost of three salads/soups alone was $20. And for the child, we ordered from the Kids menu. It was supposed to include a take-home kids cup, ciabatta, grapes, choice of beverage, entree, and a sundae. They never brought ciabatta for him (and of course we had to ask for the bread), our server said they had no kids cup, and he only brought ice cream for the child. The menu was supposed to include a choice of beverage, and he rang up a separate charge for apple juice. When I questioned him on it, he argued with me saying that Palomino never gives free beverages, to which I showed him the menu. He then complained, saying he doesn't know how to ring up a free juice. The ironic thing is he never took the gift card from us and did not deduct the $20 from the bill (Initially, he said that we could not use the card because of the special 3-course. However, we mentiond that three of us were ordering from the regular menu. So he said he would create two separate bills. But he never did that. He came back with one bill with no $20 off). So, if he never intended on taking the $20 off, what was the point of his HORRIBLE service?

Great place. I went here for the first time last weekend after recceiving a $20 gift card in the mail to Palomino. The food was on the expensive side, but very good. All of their dishes were interesting. I had a hard time deciding what to get! The waiter messed up my order, but brought me the correct dish very quickly so I didn't have to wait too long.

Got a Business Lunch?. This is definitely a good place to have a business lunch. Service and food are great! Take advantage of the lunch specials. They recently added the chopchop salad as an option to be part of the special. I guess a lot of people ask for it. There's an additional charge for the chopchop, but it's worth it. The pecan crusted chicken salad is good too! Appetizer? Crab dip or the fries for sure!
