Delicious steamed mussels and clams!. The owner recommended steamed mussels as an appetizer. It was very good. My friend and I, whom I brought along for her birthday, could not get over how delicious the spicy tomato sauce was. It smelled wonderful. A big bowl of steamed mussels, full of spices and garlic. The sauce was great to dip bread in. We also had the steamed clams and a pear salad with brie cheese that were both good. The brie cheese combined with the wine dipped pear made for an interesting but tasty treat. We loved that one too! The wild boar gnocchi was extremely fresh and, thankfully, well portioned after we had nearly stuffed ourselved silly with appetizers. But no regrets for these foodies! The gnocchi tasted soft and light, unlike other places, which tend to be hard and chewy. The wild boar did not taste gamey and the sauce was great since it was not too rich and heavy. Very nicely done. My grilled rosemary chicken smelled wonderful, but portions were big, so I had to pack it to make room for dessert. The tiramisu cake was light and fluffy, not too sweet and bitter but just rich enough to know you're eating a wonderfully sinful dessert. Service was great and attentive, despite the place being full on a Thursday night.
Great Food and Impeccable Service.
Tiramisu is certainly one of my favorite restaurants in San Francisco because of their exquisite food and unique setting. I wanted to impress some of my colleagues in the hotel industry for a business dinner, as they were visiting from out of state two nights ago. I've decided to take them to Tiramisu because this restaurant has always provided me a memorable dining experience. Murphy's Law...we have encountered a minor hiccup with the service that evening. I spoke with the restaurant manager on the side about the situation and he completely turned the experience around for us from being disappointed to being amazed. He wanted to make things right immediately by offering us desserts or wine. I told him it wasn't necessary, as I just wanted him to be cognizant of the experience, so they could improve on it. He approached our table to apologize to everyone and offered us some port wine. No one from our table took his offer, but they all raved about how wonderful the food was. We then waited for our check and when it came back...the waiter said the entire dinner was on the house, compliments of the owner! Our jaw dropped and we couldn't believe it. He didn't have to comp the entire dinner for a minor hiccup. Everyone left the restaurant happy about the food and in shock about the way our minor hiccups were handled! They certainly went way above and beyond our expectations! To those who are in the hotel industry, if you want to impress your guests or clients...I highly recommend Cafe TIRAMISU. My guests and I left with great perception of their service and they made me look good!

Great Italian. Great Italian food, ambience, and service. Try as many of the appetizers as you can. They're all fantastic, especially the crab cakes and risotto with scallops. I have eaten there with my girlfriend and with a group of friends as well. Service is attentive but not overbearing.
Great service, great food!. I came to this restaurant with a friend not expecting anything and was pleasantly surprised. I've been pleased with most restaurants on Belden Place and this one is not a disappointment at all! I was very happy with my ahi tuna - it was cooked to perfection. The pumpkin soup was quite yummy as well...also if you make reservations using open table, you get 20% off your tab. That was definitely a great surprise as I didn't know that coming into the restaurant. The place can get packed so make reservations.
Excellent. Not much to say -- excellent food, excellent wine, excellent service. Pricey, but not unusual for San Francisco. I had lamb and my husband had steak. . . both were cooked perfectly and delicious. You absolutely must save room for dessert and order their dessert sampler -- it's to die for. Also, take their recommendation on the wine; they know what they are talking about and end up making a great pairing.
Excellent food!.
At first, I did not expect too much on this restaurant, as I tried B44, Plouf on the Belden Pl, B44 was ok, but Plouf was horrible. My view on this restaurant has totally changed tonite.
I ordered Lobster Bisque, they made a nice looking by having half side of pea soup and half of lobster soup. Pea soup was light and favorness, which made an excellent match with heavier texture of lobster soup.
Appetizer was Black ink rice with Lobster..., excellent!!! Much better than the Negre Paella from B44 next door. Portion was large enough as an entree.
Then I ordered the Duck Config Spagetti..., yummm..., so tasty. The spagetti was freshly made and the duck meat was so tender and juicy. Mixed with tomato souce..., oh my god..., I will come back again for this dish.
My friend also ordered Lobster cioppino. Spicy seafood soup with 2 kinds of fishes, potato, tender shrimp, scallop, mussels, clams and of course, half lobster. You won't regret to order this plate.
Last, we had Lemon blueberry Creme Brulee..., it was ok, as I was so full at this point. I was expecting to have coffee creme brulee, but seemed that's the seasonal menu kinda thing.
Overall, this visit was full of surprises. I vote it as the best restaurant on Belden Pl.
Made 8 very particular people extremely happy!. Last night I had to scramble for a place to take 8 out of towners to dinner. One person was a vegetarian and two people hated fish - not an easy crowd. I wanted to take them to Beldon Place because it's such a cute area but most of the restaurants there are mostly seafood. I called at 6:30pm to make a reservation for 8:30 and they were able to accomodate us and when we arrived we were immediately seated. The food was incredible! Beyond delicious - a few people at the table said that it was the best meal they had ever eaten - and everyone was extremely impressed with everything on the table including the wine. This is the first review I've ever written - although I always check reviews on Citysearch - I actually felt compelled to write this and would recommend this place to anyone and everyone - has to be one of the best places in the city.
Risotto to die for. Cafe Tiramisu was a splendid lunch choice. Instead of a boring burger or tired salad I had black ink risotto with scallops. This was listed as an appetizer but was a perfect luncheon size. I ate alone and was treated royally. The dish was absolutely delicious and the menu offered so many other wonderful choices -- must try it for dinner someday. It was very busy and everyone seemed to be having a great time. Seemed to be a large business crowd. Cafe Tiramisu is on unique Belden Place, pedestrians only, with outdoor seating. A real find.
good experience. had dinner here on a thursday evening, restaurant was very crowded, but had a reservation. food was excellent, service was good. would eat there again.
It gets better and better at Cafe tiramisu..
