Where Good Burgers Meet Good Beer. For St. Patrick's day celebrating, no one knows how to turn the Fighting Irish into drunken funny-hat wearing, Mardi-Gras meets Dr. Suess and the Greatful Dead (oh the hats, oh the beads, oh the various shades of green!) quite like Murphy's. I'm not sure why blarney kissing kill-joys choose my favorite downtown Irish fix for their besotted mayhem, but they do. And it's STILL fun. If your inner frat-boy is still wondering where the party is on St. Patrick's Day--it'll be at Murphy's. Pros: The food is good; so are the bartenders. Try not to piss em' off, mmmkay?

An old-school Boston-style pub serving greasy grub and suds to the easy-to-please office workers in the FiDi.. There's something that makes you want to pull for this old-school joint, which anyone nostalgic for Boston will love. The brick walls are covered with neon beer signs, random celebrity portraits and Red Sox banners, while the bar's lined with middle-aged men drinking cocktails at midday. There isn't a "no girls allowed" sign on the door, but sightings are scarce; this is the kind of place where local suits tuck their ties in for lunch when they're not using the expense account. The selection and prices at the bar are pretty standard, although service is attentive and fast, and the greasy pub food (tri-tip salad, fish and chips, fried calamari, etc) could prove tasty after a few drinks, but isn't especially cheap.

greaqt food and atmosphere. I have been to this bar on several occasions now both for lunch and happy hour. I have to say the food was great and timely given that almost everyone tends to arrive about 12.30 or 1pm for lunch. The service was good at best and at times seemed to be under staffed. Prices, given that its down town, were average but you get decent to large portions on most items.

The male bartender though loud and obnoxious at times is real friendly and after only being there once or twice upon my return he greated me by name which i thought was great, and still wonder how he does it. he must meet several hundred people a week.

over all I have had good if not great experiences at this bar.i would highly recomend it.

Overpriced. I maily review hamburgers and I had heard good things about Murphy's. The burger howerver, was overpriced and over cooked. The service (I sat at the bar) was average at best. The male bartender was immersed in conversation with another patron to the chagrin of my stomach. He was also load and obnoxious. The burger also took a long time. The rest of the food may be great and the burger was not bad but overall... not a good experience.

NEW LOCATION. Murphy's has moved to Kearny Street, right next to Victoria's Chinese Restaurant. Great bartenders (Howard, Nicole) & FANTASTIC food!
