No Disappointments. Well, here I sit with a new tattoo on my arm saying to myself "well I really went and did it this time!". You see, I am 70 years old and have never had a tattoo but with the recent death of my beloved brother, I wanted something to memorialize him.

I live in Vancouver, Washington and visit my favorite city once or twice every year. Before I left, I did a search for tattoo artists and came across Black and Blue. I thought their website was very nicely done and helpful so I called. Jaime answered the the phone. He asked me several questions to find out what I had in mind and within a few minutes he conceptualized a very clever one off tattoo for me.

When I arrived at the tattoo shop on Guerrero, Jaime cordially invited me in and showed me his drawing off my new tattoo and then we tweaked it to perfection. Jaime was very polite and well mannered, a good conversationalist and a superb tattoo artist.

The atmosphere of the place was very relaxed and professional. Jaime spent three hours working with me and in the end he created a true masterpiece that I can wear with pride and dignity.

I would not hesitate to recommend Jaime. With his gracious manner and marvelous talent, you won't be disappointed. The whole experience exceeded my expectations.

Fantastic!. My husband and I got tattoos at this shop. We were very impressed with the professionalism and talent of the staff. My artist was Kim. She was amazing! Very personable and seemed genuinely concerned with my comfort level during the tattoo process. She did an amazing job. I absolutely LOVE my tattoo. My husband's artist was Victor. He did an incredible job as well. We don't live in this area, but LOVE the staff and the quality of work they produce. We will be back!

Unbelievable Quality and Service. I had been searching high and low for a tattoo business that I would be comfortable with for the past three years in the midwest, northeast, and now in San Francisco.

After reading the yelp reviews I did a walkin on Saturday at Black & Blue Tattoo. I by chance met Victor who immediately got what I wanted. We made an appointment for Monday. Art for review arrived late Saturday night. Both my wife and I were blown away with the quality of the rendering.

Bottom line is that I just finished a 3.5 hour sitting with Victor. Victor has the touch and the end result is that I have an unbelievable tattoo that was more than I could have every hoped for.

could not be more satisfied.. let me start off by saying, i researched a lot, and being from san jose, i looked seriously around that area for awhile. when i entered shops i was either ignored or made to feel like i wasn't 'cool enough' to be there; totally weak. as soon as i called balck and blue, the receptionist was so sweet, recommended an artist that would be best to give what i wanted... i knew i had found my place. the whole experience was well worth the little drive. rocio is the best, hands down. very calming, funny, down to earth. and talented to boot. i have had my tattoo for a month and i get compliments all the time. she did an amazing job covering up what i had and making the whole piece clean and beautiful. go here, seriously. SO important to feel at ease in a place that is marking your body permanently, and the talent is ridiculous.

My first tattoo!. I had heard great things about this place and was actually on my way to another place but decided to check it out.

It was my first tattoo but I decided to let Edie (who is an apprentice) try her skills out on me. I have a super super super fab tattoo. It took over 4 hours but it was really worth it.

After weeks of reading reviews....this was the best shop I could have ever hoped for!! Highly recommended!!. I'm the kind of person who will read reviews for weeks to find the a tattoo shop. This was my first tattoo and I wanted to find somewhere that would be perfect. I read several great reviews about Black & Blue tattoo and especially about the artist Anne Williams who works there.

I sent Anne an initial email with my design and then she called me back and had a really informative conversation over the phone about all the things she could do with the tattoo and what I wanted out of it. She was super patient and really nice.

A few weeks later I went in for the actual tattoo. (fyi, finding a parking spot can be hard so get there early) The shop has a cool art gallery in the entrance and the rest of the shop is very very clean. Before the tattoo, Anne explained the entire process really well and told me how everything would feel before it happened so you could prepare for it. She took her time and even redid the stencil to make sure the positioning was perfect. The tattoo came out PERFECTLY! My friend came along and Anne was very kind and explained the entire process to us. Anne was the ideal tattoo artist, it was such a relief to be able to entrust something so important to someone and have the final result be better that you ever expected.

Afterwards she explained how to take care of it and gave me a special cream to use for the next few days to help it heal.

Trust me, I spent weeks reading reviews and decided to go with Anne at Black and Blue tattoo....it was one of the best decisions ever. She is an amazing artist and you can feel safe knowing that the tattoo she gives you will be just what you wanted.

This place was voted the best for a reason!. I went there to have my first (and second) tattoos done. The place is lovely, the atmosphere is great and the work was very very professionally done. Everyone was nice and friendly and they made me feel really relaxed and comfortable and the tattoos hardly hurt even though I had them done on the inside of my upper arm, which is meant to be a painful spot. I've already recommended the place to all my friends. Will definitely come back again to get more work done.

This Place is the Best!!!. I got my first tattoo here and Mikal was the artist. She was very professional and put me at ease by explaining everything. The whole studio gave me a very comfortable vibe. It was very clean and everyone was very friendly. I visited a few on Haight and I didn't feel very comfortable there at all. I am definitely coming back to Black and Blue for my next tattoo.

tattoo. i had artwork from the film clockwork orange done. mikal was the artist and i must say she did a bang up job i am so impressed and will have most if not all future tattoos done by the mikal or another artist at black and blue.

to add she was also very nice and loved to talk tattoo, the fact the was as eager as i was made me feel comfortable.
