What happened to the Lone Star?. This once great bear bar has gone way down hill. Maybe it's because there's only one way in and out making it a fire trap and the smell of urine throughout. But the bartenders are still fun if you don't mind being the lone customer, so sad..…
Very Friendly place. Everything is great except the music is getting real old.
Simply the best. Bear or not, the Lone Bone (er . . .Star) is the best in SF. Great guys, fabulous bartenders (Bobby is the nicest guy around, Louie should be a stand-up comic, and Jimmy is a sweetheart), and wonderful music (how many bars do you know play Donovan's "Sunshine Superman"?). Sunday beer bust (4-8) is a must, but Saturday's beer bust (3-7) ain't bad either. Another "don't miss" is Bobby's Xmas Toys for Tots night. It'll warm your heart to see 240-pound bears bring in Barbie dolls for poor kids. The only bummer is when the rainy season comes and they have to put that damn awning up over the patio.…
