Yes, Yes, Yes. Okay...I just want to say that this place rocks. My girlfriends and I were so bored this weekend and we driving home when we passed by Mars bar. We saw some activity inside, so we stopped the car, parked and went inside. This place is un-discovered or something because it was so cool and we didn't even know it was open again. Cute bartenders, cute crowd and great drinks.

I don't know what was up with the last review but they (expertrater) were obviously having some kind of dementia because Friday was great and so I brought my boyfriend on Saturday night which was even better. Mars kicks ass!

Overpriced drinks, bad music. This bar has potential to be a nice hangout. There is a charming patio with trees and heat lamps. However, the problem is that the drinks are small and more expensive than comparable bars. I have no problem paying higher prices for alcohol if the overall value of the establishment is worth it, but this bar is not. This is an average bar on a lousy street in SOMA. No wonder the place was dead on a recent Friday night.

Additionally, there is a jukebox to choose music from. What knowledgeable bar owner actually has a jukebox in his/her bar. And it was spitting out banal music from the 70's and 80's. Note to bar owner: align your drink prices to fit the value of the establishment and your competition, and spring for a decent sound system playing modern music and then you might have more patrons showing up.

The new Mars Bar. Great space, for those who remember even the old mars. New owners are have made the place a much place, with better drinks, great bartenders, and good vibe. Definitely worth it.

i like it...... Stopped in on a Saturday night for some drinks and some food.... ended up staying until they closed! Nice people and cool atmosphere. Will definitely go back. Light crowd/great music.

Mourning for the Old Mars!. loved this bar before changed ownership. had good balance of quiet and crazy, but always great bartenders and off the hook drinks, but now, really different crowd and weak-ass high priced drinks. exactly what it wanst before.

the new MARS looks great!. everyone says how they love Mars but haven't been there in a while so I think people should check it out again with the new changes happening there. It's still a fun place with a friendly staff and great drink prices. As soon as you walk in the place is very inviting and warm. They say more changes are coming in the new year (including expanding the menu and finishing out my favorite - the outdoor patio) and I think they're on the right track! Definately put it back on your radar!
