Citysearch Editorial Review. Chile Lindo keeps life easy for the indecisive diner. It makes one thing and one thing only: empanadas. The owner, Paula Tejeda, has sold these baked snacks on foot for years around Mission District bars, and loyal customers seek her out on 16th Street and Capp, where her clean, well-lit shop is open from early in the morning to late night, and is a friendly addition to a dark and dicey corner. The $5 empanadas are all hand made, with beef, vegetarian and vegan options, and are huge compared to traditional South American empanadas--one is just about a meal. There's no seating--this is a takeout only spot--but black and white sketches of rodeos and fishermen evoking Chilean days of yore provide some charm, which is the real foundation of Tejeda's business.
