In July, 2012, I purchased a 2012 BMW 335i from this location. Not even two months later, the vehicle was in a collision and requiring repair.
I brought the vehicle to German Motors Collision (same ownership) and they repaired the vehicle and upon examining the vehicle, it was flawless. There were programming issues, however, and the vehicle needed to be sent to the BMW on Howard St for reprogramming.
I dropped off the vehicle here and borrowed a loaner vehicle. When I returned to pick up the vehicle and to return the loaner vehicle, I examined the vehicle to notice that the ENTIRE vehicle was buffed. The vehicle was buffed so poorly and at such a speed, that the entire paint job looked like a hologram.
I notified them of this, and stated that I under no circumstances, EVER, authorized them to do this to my vehicle; it was brand new and had no need for such a service, let alone such a poor quality. They agreed to take it back and polish it.
I returned to pick up the vehicle, but was only able to see it indoors. It looked better, but I couldn't see anything. It wasn't until a week later when the vehicle was dirty that I noticed these issues remained.
To this day, six months later, I have called the BMW of San Francisco weekly/bi-weekly in efforts to address this. I have left Michael Greening over 10 voicemails requesting his callback - but to no avail. I have left Patrick Day just as many, but with only one call-back to my voicemail. I have asked to stay on hold for a manager, but will not be allowed. The vehicle has been detailed three times, totaling over $1000 in fees - but the damage is irreparable.
The business practices here are appalling. They are avoiding my requests entirely, and will not even respond to me.
Great service, friendly staff – im not disputing the bad reviews but i always get pretty good service here, at least in there service department. i would never go to thier body shop, German Motors body. made that mistake once.
i go in here with patience and understand its not a mom and pop shop where everyone is going to know your name but my regular advisors and cashiers seem to remember me and i always get my issues resolved
BMW of San Francisco put 484 miles on my car during a servic – Brought my new BMW (purchased not leased) to BMW of San Francisco to address some SMG error messages I had been getting. The car is returned a week later filthy inside and out, with almost no gas, and an additional 484 documented miles on the odometer. The explanation was that multiple "test drives" were required to diagnose the problem, including one, or possibly two, techs driving the car to and from home and over the weekend.
The best I can do is warn the community. Needless to say, I don't recommend anyone going to BMW San Francisco for service of any kind.
ZERO STARS! STAY AWAY! – I wish I could've given them a ZERO!!!
Patrick Day, Service Manager, along with Toungvi Tran, Service Advisor, are the worst of the worse!
Bad customer relations, the job wasn't done right and lack of concern! The warranty work was never completed after they kept my car for almost a week.
I was given the run around. They kept changing their minds, like a little school girl trying to figure out what to wear! I'm serious, NO LIE! When I called them again to confirm they acted, like a fart in the wind, it all disappeared as if they didn't know what I was talking about. I was furious! I voiced my concern to Toungvi, and she blamed it on Patrick...it's like, HAHAHA...you're a sucker, you spent all this money, who cares if your demands or requests aren’t met...
OH, BTW...They also wrote down the wrong item that needed to be fixed!
They didn't even care when I came back to pick up my vehicle! They are so arrogant, that Patrick emailed me after I posted a similar review on Yelp informing me that I'm no longer welcome at their dealership! I couldn't believe it!
Bmw of San Francisco – This place is a half-ass attempt at being a fancy car dealership. I'm originally from Southern California, and it seems like Crevier is the only place to go. I moved up here 4 years ago and this was the first time I brought my X5 in for service at this dealership (I usually take it to Crevier when I drive down there for the weekend). First of all, checking in was fairly simple. You stand at the podium, give the lady your name, take a seat. Fair enough. What I didn't expect, was to sit there for almost 40 minutes. I just needed to do an oil change, I had no other requests. I had to sit in the shabby lounge listening to horrible morning news, drinking what seemed like burnt coffee. When it was my turn to talk to the advisor, Chris A., he seemed rushed and didn't care what was going on. Our conversation lasted for about ten minutes and was ushered out of my seat. I then had to cram into a black minivan (their shuttle service) and was dropped off downtown. I didn't hear from Chris all day - I didn't expect to as I only had an oil change done. When I came back at 5:30pm to get the car, there was a list of recommendations by the tech on what should be down. WTF? If there were all these recommendations, he should've called me and let me know 'cause I would've authorized some of the repairs to get them out of the way. I guess that's an upsale this dealership won't be getting from me anytime soon. Kiss my butt, and car, goodbye BMW of San Francisco! I'm headed to a dealer that accepts the mighty AmEx
San Francisco BMW : they simply do not care – Terrible experience with them! They have the worse customer service ever!! Both sales manager and
service manager are liars and bluffers!
It all started when I requested a copy of my pre-certified inspection checklist to be faxed to me which I am entitle to since I purchased the car in Nov. 2006. Both managers promised to fax it to me and each day i waited with no fax. I have to do all follow up calls and requests with no success. I am suspicious that they are covering up something and does not want to let me know. I therefore called the North America BMW center and reported my frustration. The rep. at No. America center placed a courtesy call for me and I still got no response from them. I therefore call again and left messages for the General manager at SF BMW. He never called me back and so again I called him the third time and miraculously he picked up the phone. He then faxed me my checklist. THIS IS FRIDAY NOW, 5 DAYS AFTER MY REQUEST!
They gave me the dirtiest, filthiest loaner car. I found pet hair, dust and crumbs everywhere! and of course, the car was stinky as ^%^! I reported that to them, and they didn't offer to give me a cleaner car.
My car has now been in their shop since last Thurs. more than 48 hrs and I still have not gotten any follow up call from them about the status of repair. Again, I left them numerous messages.
If you insist on going to this dealer. Go at your own risk. and prepare for many headaches.
PLEASE, stay away from this place!!!!!!!!!!!! They deserve no star. none, zero!!!
AVOID USING BMW OF SAN FRANCISCO SERVICE DEPARTMENT – This was one of the worst customer service experiences of my lifetime.
It took 2 hours to get in and drop the car off before I could get on the road. The service rep had no recollection of who I was or what I needed done........very poor planning. I was told when I arrived that I would need to leave the car overnight and get a rental car.
Also, it is impossible to reach anyone in service, certainly not the rep you are assigned.
I was quoted before I brought the car in. My quote was revised during the day based upon the work. The rep tacked on a few hundred extra and could jack the price up or drop it based upon what he felt like doing. I believe they make a commission off what they charge and they do not have set rates. It felt like a sleezy used car shop........I don't feel they were honest or upfront about their business practices.
I didn't have the work done and took it elsewhere and it was fixed--1/3 of the cost of what BMW of SF would have charged.
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS SERVICE DEPARTMENT.
Efficient Service with Good Results – After having the misfortune of getting my two passenger side doors severely dented from some hoodlums foot, I have the pleasure of getting repairs done through their body shop. My poor car looked so bad when I brought it in but looked like new when they were finished! They even made sure to inspect it with me before I drove off and called me to make sure I was happy. If you have a BMW (or other car I suppose) that needs body work done, then take it to the pros here right away.
