Bmw of San Francisco

by dkcunningham

This place is a half-ass attempt at being a fancy car dealership. I'm originally from Southern California, and it seems like Crevier is the only place to go. I moved up here 4 years ago and this was the first time I brought my X5 in for service at this dealership (I usually take it to Crevier when I drive down there for the weekend). First of all, checking in was fairly simple. You stand at the podium, give the lady your name, take a seat. Fair enough. What I didn't expect, was to sit there for almost 40 minutes. I just needed to do an oil change, I had no other requests. I had to sit in the shabby lounge listening to horrible morning news, drinking what seemed like burnt coffee. When it was my turn to talk to the advisor, Chris A., he seemed rushed and didn't care what was going on. Our conversation lasted for about ten minutes and was ushered out of my seat. I then had to cram into a black minivan (their shuttle service) and was dropped off downtown. I didn't hear from Chris all day - I didn't expect to as I only had an oil change done. When I came back at 5:30pm to get the car, there was a list of recommendations by the tech on what should be down. WTF? If there were all these recommendations, he should've called me and let me know 'cause I would've authorized some of the repairs to get them out of the way. I guess that's an upsale this dealership won't be getting from me anytime soon. Kiss my butt, and car, goodbye BMW of San Francisco! I'm headed to a dealer that accepts the mighty AmEx

San Francisco BMW : they simply do not care

by vienneski

Terrible experience with them! They have the worse customer service ever!! Both sales manager and

service manager are liars and bluffers!

It all started when I requested a copy of my pre-certified inspection checklist to be faxed to me which I am entitle to since I purchased the car in Nov. 2006. Both managers promised to fax it to me and each day i waited with no fax. I have to do all follow up calls and requests with no success. I am suspicious that they are covering up something and does not want to let me know. I therefore called the North America BMW center and reported my frustration. The rep. at No. America center placed a courtesy call for me and I still got no response from them. I therefore call again and left messages for the General manager at SF BMW. He never called me back and so again I called him the third time and miraculously he picked up the phone. He then faxed me my checklist. THIS IS FRIDAY NOW, 5 DAYS AFTER MY REQUEST!

They gave me the dirtiest, filthiest loaner car. I found pet hair, dust and crumbs everywhere! and of course, the car was stinky as ^%^! I reported that to them, and they didn't offer to give me a cleaner car.

My car has now been in their shop since last Thurs. more than 48 hrs and I still have not gotten any follow up call from them about the status of repair. Again, I left them numerous messages.

If you insist on going to this dealer. Go at your own risk. and prepare for many headaches.

PLEASE, stay away from this place!!!!!!!!!!!! They deserve no star. none, zero!!!

AVOID USING BMW OF SAN FRANCISCO SERVICE DEPARTMENT

by yogisarah

This was one of the worst customer service experiences of my lifetime.

It took 2 hours to get in and drop the car off before I could get on the road. The service rep had no recollection of who I was or what I needed done........very poor planning. I was told when I arrived that I would need to leave the car overnight and get a rental car.

Also, it is impossible to reach anyone in service, certainly not the rep you are assigned.

I was quoted before I brought the car in. My quote was revised during the day based upon the work. The rep tacked on a few hundred extra and could jack the price up or drop it based upon what he felt like doing. I believe they make a commission off what they charge and they do not have set rates. It felt like a sleezy used car shop........I don't feel they were honest or upfront about their business practices.

I didn't have the work done and took it elsewhere and it was fixed--1/3 of the cost of what BMW of SF would have charged.

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS SERVICE DEPARTMENT.
