Editorial Review for Nordstrom – by Citysearch Editors
In Short
Founded as a Seattle shoe store in 1901, this popular chain is now known for manageably priced designer duds. Shoppers find a hint of sophistication in the store's white floors and pianists on baby grands. Unique departments include the Brass Plum juniors' section with Ruby Rox and Diesel, and Studio 121 for career-savvy women. A business-centric men's clothing department offers Ben Sherman suits, while relaxed styles from Marc Jacobs and Lacoste are in The Rail department.

I went in to Nordstroms yesterday and was looking at the new shoes in the womens shoe department. A young man came up to me and asked that when I was ready to look at the shoes, to let him know and he would be glad to help me. I did see some shoes I wanted to try on, and he brought those cheerfully and quickly to me, along with some others he thought I might be interested in. Wow - was he ever right about a couple of things! First of all, it was the BEST customer service I have received in the Nordstroms shoe department in YEARS. Personalized and customized and friendly. And he brought so many darling shoes to me that I didn't know which I could actually buy....a wonderful predicament to be in! The BEST service is from PATRICK. He is new to womens shoes, and is from Scottsdale and is just a wonderful, energetic and positive person to spend time with! Tell him a friend of Bill W. sent you...you will not be disappointed.
Pros: Patrick!

My friend and I went to the busy Macy's make-up dept (Clinique) to purchase 1 or 2 items. We asked if there were any promotional "free gift with purchase". The nice employee explained that their next promotion would begin in about 3 weeks but she would check to see if there were any leftovers from the previous promotion. My friend's purchases qualified for the free gift but mine did not. However, the employee was kind enough to give me one--without any attitude as she handed it to me.
Pros: Shopping!!
Cons: Parking!!
