Tips for American Conservatory Theater

Give it a miss!. I had pricey tickets for the matinee on will-call, but being from out of town, failed to reckon with horrific Sunday afternoon traffic. Unable to find parking, literally within miles, I missed the opening curtain. When I phoned the box office to request a seat at another performance I was rudely refused any accommodation whatever by a snotty, dismissive employee, even though he readily admitted there were many seats available for the very next performance!

These folks obviously do not appreciate or encourage out of town patronage. Give 'em a miss!

The top local venue for world premieres and polished classics, which are often masterfully conceived and produced.. In Short
Founded by director Bill Ball when he brought his Pittsburgh acting company here in 1965, A.C.T. has since become the anchor of the SF theater scene. Although A.C.T. disbanded its ongoing rep some years back, it has recently returned to its roots as an acting company by selecting four distinguished actors for season-long contracts: Marco Barricelli, Steven Anthony Jones, René Augesen and Gregory Wallace.
