The Details on American Conservatory Theater
The Extras:
The theater often offers free public symposia with well-known playwrights.
Fun Fact:
The Geary Theater, home to A.C.T. since 1967, was built in 1910. Nearly ruined in the Loma Prieta quake of 1989, the 1,024-seat, beaux-arts theater reopened seven years later after a multimillion-dollar renovation that brought in a floodlit facade and a marble-lined main lobby.
