The BEST staff in the city!. I have stayed at the Adagio many times and i will stay many more because of the welcoming friendly faces that greet me at checkin!
Refreshing contemporary style in the former Shannon Court..
The Scene
Spanish Colonial Revival architecture provides a striking backdrop for this hotel's modern style. It underwent a six-month renovation and its airy, high-ceilinged lobby is now populated with islands of sleek sofas and chairs positioned for intimate conversation. While it has more than 150 guest rooms, it is still able to offer notable personal service: consider the cool guidebooks to San Francisco penned by the staff.
The Details
Accommodations are impressive showcases for luscious color schemes, such as chocolate and marigold. All have complimentary high-speed Internet, two-line cordless speaker phones, CD players and Sony Wega high-density TVs. Eighty rooms boast great city views. Two 16th-floor penthouses include the Bolero, with an outdoor terrace, living area and dining table for up to eight. For business travelers, three meeting spaces and morning town car service to the Financial District are available.
great modern hotel. we recently stayed at this hotel and were so pleasantly surprised! it's smaller, very cozy and right next to union square. there's a lot of attention to detail, from the furniture and light fixtures to the aveda bath products. the concierge was extremely helpful in getting us info and dinner reservations. we didn't eat at their restaurant, but it was packed every night and so was the adjoining bar. in fact, it was busier than the W bar or frisson. no a/c, but you're in san fran., it's cold here ANYWAYS. we'll definitely be back.
Love this hotel. Excellent decor, quiet room, great atmosphere and close to everything downtown. We loved this hotel!!
Motel 6 would be a better choice!.
SF was experiencing a heatwave at the time and we found out a little late that the Adagio doesn't have air-conditioning. We had to leave the windows/drapes open to get air and were woken by the sun at dawn. The room set-up is another inconvenience. Furniture is not conveniently placed. The lobby reeks of fish?!?!
The service is also terrible. We asked for a bus map and were told that since SF changes their system so frequently they don't have maps. The worst part of our stay was the night before we checked out we requested a car to the airport and a 5:30am wake-up call that never came. When we mentioned it to the front desk twice as we checked out they basically blew us off. They weren't sure that our car was outside and weren't very concerned. Luckily it was and we got the hell out of there.
