The Scene
This cool, triangular-shaped building was constructed in 1909. It offers a unique fusion of styles--from its ornate, Victorian style lobby to its Cafe do Brasil, which claims to be the city's first and only Brazilian Churrascaria. The cafe's yellow and lime green walls provide the backdrop for all-you-can-eat barbecues and performances reminiscent of Carnivale, complete with girls in bikinis and elaborate headdresses.
The Details
The 135 guest rooms were renovated in 2001 and come in a variety of types. The suites are the best, with large separate sitting areas (complete with sofa beds) whose big windows look out over Nob Hill, Market Street and the Financial District. Decor is tasteful: dark carpeting, dark furnishings and fabrics in shades of rose and green. Accommodations come with data ports, and the hotel can offer fax and copy services. A reasonably priced airport shuttle is available. This is a non-smoking property.

I have stayed at the hotel on and off for the past 5 years and I have nothing but High Praise for the Staff. The rooms were all was very clean and when I was in San Francisco it was around the first of July and the rooms were very comfortable not hot at all and if I wanted to I could open the windows. I will say it is in a bad neighborhood due to all the bums and the trash you see in the neighborhood since there is a bum food house one block away but the staff all ways too care of me and look out for me when I was going or coming to the hotel. I have all ways had them park my truck and I never had a problem getting my truck and I was in during the Gay Day Events. I sorry to say that Cafe Do Brasil has closed due to Elvia the owner getting sick and having to retire I will miss the good times I had at the restaurant and the good food and the very friendly owner and staff. To the Staff and Managers all I can say keep up the great work you are doing.

i picked the renoir hotel because it was closest to a concert venue - warfield theatre. what a mistake! the location was very unsafe. bums in every direction. i didn't dare walk down the street at night. hotel charged $33 + taxes for valet parking (or $25 self park) which closes @ 12am. meaning if you don't get your car back before midnight then you are on your own. the room had a terrible odor & no A/C. overall my worst hotel experience to date.

A lovely little downtown property without pretention. Central location, walking distance to the courthouse and restaurants around the Civic Center. Public transportation easy to use from hotel to anywhere in the city. Unbeatable rates for what you get here! We stayed for $72 a night in the middle of August!
