Chic design and a swank restaurant.. The Scene
This hot hotel opened in 1989 in conjunction with Wolfgang Puck's Postrio restaurant. It is perhaps one of the best projects of hotelier par excellence Bill Kimpton. A masculine blend of neoclassical and Empire architecture is complemented by cherry wood furnishings, a paisley Ralph Lauren look and an appealing color scheme of burgundy, teal and navy.

The Details
There is a members-only feeling to the 164 suites and smallish rooms, 82 of which comprises the Club Level (continental breakfast and cocktails are complimentary here). All are outfitted with armoires and marble-clad baths. The clubby theme is underscored in the living room-style lobby, complete with a wood-burning fireplace and overstuffed furniture. Altogether, the extremely handsome interior design, first-rate location and fine service.

Prescott Hotel not worth it!. So, if the room is not so wonderful then perhaps the service? They claim to give you Services expected from a Mobil Four-Star and AAA Four-Diamond luxury hotel. Such as what? They do offer preferred reservations at Postrio, a long ago inspiration from Wolfgang Puck who had now moved on. They talk about having twice daily maid service. But watch out. They will annoy you to death! The maids are told they must finish their work by 3:00. If you happen to be sleeping in late or come back to the room and are not timed to their schedule, they will incessantly knock on your door and ask when the can service your room. Even if you hang your Do not disturb sign out!

location, location, location. At first, I was disappointed in the room (very small and not as luxurious as I'd expect from a 4 star hotel), but the longer we stayed, we found it didn't matter as we weren't in the room much. The location was excellent as it was close to so much food, shopping and public transportation. The beds were very comfortable as opposed to most I've slept in and the staff was very helpful and friendly without being uptight. We would stay there again.

Stay Here. My girlfriend and I found this place online and from what we could tell, it sounded like the best decision - I would highly suggest this place and will stay here when I come back - excellent location, great service/vibe, excellent, clean and very nice rooms - easy to get a workout in. I've stayed in a few places in SF and this one is as good as any for the price - probably the best one for the price...

Boutique Hotel - The Prescott. The hotel is small but in a great location, great roomservice and very attentive staff. The workout room is above average and the rooms on the club level are worth the upgrade for service, space and breakfast/evening reception.
