An Art Deco Treasure Trove in the Heart of the City. Have enjoyed shopping there for beautiful and beautifully restored art deco furniture knick-knacks and accessories for the past 7 years. Have a feeling that at this point it's been there a lot longer than 12 years now, perhaps that is an older review. Mr. Fleming has a great eye for what he has in his store, is a treat just to browse around. In any case, is still / always a great pleasure to do business with. Thanks Marks!

A general antiques store that's scruffy on the outside, polished on the inside.. The Scene
The weathered storefront of Golden Gate Antiques belies the vast sea of furniture and general collectibles on the inside. If you're looking to furnish your home, you'll find everything from a French marble-top dining room table, circa 1880 ($5,500), to a more contemporary Formica kitchen table with four matching chairs ($750). If you're simply looking for accessories, they're available too: In addition to its dense selection of furniture, the store stocks china, silver, pottery, clocks, paintings and more.

The Goods
For nearly 12 years the store has been owned and operated by Mark Fleming who scouts auctions, estate sales and flea markets for "anything that's a collectible to someone." Though this doesn't always mean a discriminating level of quality, it's a pleasure browsing through the store, if for no other reason than to shoot the breeze with the expert Fleming.
