Editorial Review for Zonal – by Lorraine Sanders
In Short
Like the interiors of an old country farmhouse simmered in just the right amount of contemporary urban style, this shop pits pieces like an old weathered cupboard set with ceramic dishes against made-to-order sofas, chairs and ottomans of buttery-smooth leather and suede. Kitschy finds like Western-themed art, mirrors framed in boat wood, salvaged street signs and antique suitcases eat up wall and floor space around the larger items.

I purchased a sofa from Zonal, which happens to be a merchant just 1/2 block away from my salon. After I bought the sofa all the buttons started falling off & within a couple of months the foam was flat. Russell, the store owner replaced the foam & retied the buttons but again the buttons kept falling off & the foam flattened again. I had to return to the store several times to have the buttons put back on, 8 to 10 times from anywhere from a couple of days to a couple of weeks. Obviously there was a defect with the sofa but Russell refused to admit it. I asked several times if we could go to the manufacture or replace the cushions without buttons but every time the answer was no. He said I was hard on the sofa. The sofa was so uncomfortable that it was hard to sit on let alone spend any length of time on it. Russell was so rude through this entire ordeal. The last time I went in the store I said is there anything else we can do because fixing it isn’t working. I told him I cant even keep the buttons on long enough to sell the sofa. Also, I really didn’t want to sell a problem sofa to an innocent person. Russell’s last words to me were: " no & don't sit on the sofa”. I was so fed up that I tracked the manufacture and tried to resolve the issue with him. Tony at Madrid’s, in LA said he would help. Well after talking to Russell who said it was a "floor sample they wouldn’t stand behind the sofa. FLOOR SAMPLE!! All the sofas are on the floor, as a matter of fact the sofa still had the plastic on it a & plus they already replaced all the foam and buttons. This has lasted almost a 1 & a 1/2 years & I had to just give up and sell the sofa at a loss. If you go in Zonal you will notice not one sofa has buttons & if you check out the Madrid’s not one of those sofas have buttons either. My advice is BEWARE!! Like I already said, I am a fellow merchant and he treated me this bad imagine? The customer service is so bad & Russell is so rude. No integrity!
Pros: None in my case
Cons: If you have a problem it's to bad

I had some issues after making a purchase at Zonal. The quality is sub standard, the customer service is horrible and the staff is rude. The details are not important but the point is I would not recommend Zonal to anyone and would certainly not purchase anything else from this store.
