The Scene – A series of small, separately enclosed nooks, or "snugs" as they are called in Ireland, provide places for intimate conversation. Dark-wood tones, portraits of famous Irishmen, stained glass and detailed craftsmanship is everywhere. Equal parts restaurant and pub, Foley's draws a strong lunchtime crowd, including Union Square shoppers, and comes alive at night with live music. Irish bartenders are spot on the job with fast service and a joke or two. – – The Draw – Live entertainment ranges from traditional Irish music to rock-and-roll cover bands. A…
Editor's Tips
- Know Before You Go:
- Foley's houses a beautiful banquet room suitable for private parties. Capacity is 40 people for a sit-down meal and 70 for a cocktail party. Contact the bar for reservations.
- Save Time:
- Order food until 10pm each night. Traditional items like Irish lamb stew and corned beef and cabbage, as well as burgers and sandwiches are on the menu.
- Look Good:
- Sir Arthur Guinness' stout is well-represented here, but a rare standout is a creamy Caffrey's Irish Ale.
Great place to let off some steam at the end of the week!

This dueling piano bar has a good atmosphere, fun patrons, and good customer service. We have been down to the bar (near Union Square) a few times and have always had a good time. The dueling piano singers engage the crowd and it is easy to meet new people at the bar. Go early if you want a table, otherwise it is standing room only.
Yum-tacular!

Went to Foley's on a Saturday night ready to get some good Irish pub food and some tasty beers. There was a short wait which we made go even faster by getting cocktails at the bar. I asked the Irish accented bartender for a good amber beer and he gave me a sample taste of the one he suggested. YUM! It was just how I liked it! Now if only I could remember what it was called! errrrr!
Once we sat our 12 year old waitress came by to take appetizer orders and any drink refills. We got calamari for the table. Probably one of the best calamari's I've had! I'm not an expert on it because usually it is difficult to find a friend to share it with. But, this one was lightly breaded with very tender (not chewy) meat inside. YUM! I could have eaten the whole plate myself! but I kindly shared :P
I decided after a big plate of fried calamari it would be in my best interest to stick with a salad. Amazing salmon salad. The dressing was sweet and tangy and they actually didn't drench the thing! The fish seemed juicy and fresh (not dry). over all very tasty. The rest of the table got chicken and steak which everyone seemed to enjoy. The best was the spicy fries my BF got....I stole only a couple!
My mission to get Irish food didn't quite turn out the way I expected, but next time I'm so getting the cottage pie!
Great Time for A Pint!

Our first time there and we loved it. Great atmosphere, warm and friendly.
Awesome service and great selection on tap we've ever seen. If you're in the area check it out.

Horrible

This place is horrible... I used to go here everyday for a drink after work...
Until one day I walked in and they grabbed me by the arm and said "sir you have to talk with the manager." I complied and went up to him he told me "I was never welcome here ever again." When I asked why he told me ....because I had received a complaint about a couple who I had given my business card to, only to try and help them out. He told me that I had shown them a picture of my member which is a total lie!!!! These ladies were obviously upset and made a rumor about me... I told him not to believe their story, that they were lying and he said I don't believe you.. You need to leave and never come back!
I was very upset and it made me mad that the place I had gone to and
been very courteous and kind did not take my word over some ladies that made up this horrible rumor... DO NOT GO HERE THEY ARE UNFAIR!!!!! Go somewhere else.....
Never a bad time...

Been here plenty of days and I've never had a bad time. Food is great, service is dependant on the kind of person you are. It's Bad if you like waitstaff equal to flies (buzz, buzz, buzz), Average if you like waistaff to be checking in with you every 15 minutes (everything STILL ok here?), Great if you like to take your time, enjoy your meal, nurse your ale and like to hollar waistaff over to request your check when you're ready. I don't know about everyone else but a pub- an IRISH pub none the less- is supposed to be rowdy and loud and you should expect to have to wave waistaff over. It's a pub. You want 5 star elegance with buzz, buzz waitstaff go on over to a fancy-schmancy sit down restaurant. Just remember you need a 4 month in advance reservation and oh ya- you can get just as good food over at Foley's and have a good time too if you just chill. And try ANY IRish pub on St. Pad's kids- what customer service?!?!? St. Pad's is CRAZY!!
