Sometimes you just need a good old European style Irish pub. When that's the case, you can't go wrong with Foleys. The bartenders are friendly, the drinks are cheap, and the fried calamari is nice and crispy.

Great place to let off some steam at the end of the week!. This dueling piano bar has a good atmosphere, fun patrons, and good customer service. We have been down to the bar (near Union Square) a few times and have always had a good time. The dueling piano singers engage the crowd and it is easy to meet new people at the bar. Go early if you want a table, otherwise it is standing room only.

Yum-tacular!. Went to Foley's on a Saturday night ready to get some good Irish pub food and some tasty beers. There was a short wait which we made go even faster by getting cocktails at the bar. I asked the Irish accented bartender for a good amber beer and he gave me a sample taste of the one he suggested. YUM! It was just how I liked it! Now if only I could remember what it was called! errrrr!

Once we sat our 12 year old waitress came by to take appetizer orders and any drink refills. We got calamari for the table. Probably one of the best calamari's I've had! I'm not an expert on it because usually it is difficult to find a friend to share it with. But, this one was lightly breaded with very tender (not chewy) meat inside. YUM! I could have eaten the whole plate myself! but I kindly shared :P

I decided after a big plate of fried calamari it would be in my best interest to stick with a salad. Amazing salmon salad. The dressing was sweet and tangy and they actually didn't drench the thing! The fish seemed juicy and fresh (not dry). over all very tasty. The rest of the table got chicken and steak which everyone seemed to enjoy. The best was the spicy fries my BF got....I stole only a couple!

My mission to get Irish food didn't quite turn out the way I expected, but next time I'm so getting the cottage pie!

Horrible. This place is horrible... I used to go here everyday for a drink after work...

Until one day I walked in and they grabbed me by the arm and said "sir you have to talk with the manager." I complied and went up to him he told me "I was never welcome here ever again." When I asked why he told me ....because I had received a complaint about a couple who I had given my business card to, only to try and help them out. He told me that I had shown them a picture of my member which is a total lie!!!! These ladies were obviously upset and made a rumor about me... I told him not to believe their story, that they were lying and he said I don't believe you.. You need to leave and never come back!

I was very upset and it made me mad that the place I had gone to and

been very courteous and kind did not take my word over some ladies that made up this horrible rumor... DO NOT GO HERE THEY ARE UNFAIR!!!!! Go somewhere else.....

Never a bad time.... Been here plenty of days and I've never had a bad time. Food is great, service is dependant on the kind of person you are. It's Bad if you like waitstaff equal to flies (buzz, buzz, buzz), Average if you like waistaff to be checking in with you every 15 minutes (everything STILL ok here?), Great if you like to take your time, enjoy your meal, nurse your ale and like to hollar waistaff over to request your check when you're ready. I don't know about everyone else but a pub- an IRISH pub none the less- is supposed to be rowdy and loud and you should expect to have to wave waistaff over. It's a pub. You want 5 star elegance with buzz, buzz waitstaff go on over to a fancy-schmancy sit down restaurant. Just remember you need a 4 month in advance reservation and oh ya- you can get just as good food over at Foley's and have a good time too if you just chill. And try ANY IRish pub on St. Pad's kids- what customer service?!?!? St. Pad's is CRAZY!!

great selection on tap. Foley's Irish House is a warm place to have lunch (bowl of soup, brown bread and pint of Guinness). A week ago wife was attending a conference, I was wandering about taking in the sights. I had the above lunch twice during the week and stopped in for a pint around 4pm daily. I found the bar service friendly and willing to chat if not busy. The bar was generally half filled at that time of day.

First night in town we had the "cottage (shepherds) pie." The flavor was fine but found it a bit heavy on the spuds. The soups were flavorful, hearty and of ample portion. Foley's offers an extensive selection of draught beer and ale.

I would certainly stop in again.

A great Pint in union square. I was in town on a Sunday night and just wandered into this place while walking around Union Square looking for a good drink. It was pretty busy for a Sunday night according to the bartender but it was ok as me and my buddy were able to secure a seat at the bar after about 20 mins. The flat screens were playing the Fox Soccer Channel and ESPN which provided enough entertainment. Has the best Newcastle on tap that I've had in awhile. Being in my mid-20's, I felt to be one of the younger patrons, but since I was only there to get a few beers, this place was great! I ended up going back the next day for some garlic fries. Highly recommended for someone looking for an irish pub.

V. Good bangers and mash. Not exactly authentic but quite good nonetheless. Murphy's a good drop on tap and the service was good - efficient yet unobtrusive bar staff.

If you're eating the bangers and mash were great.

Good Tourist Bar. If you have people to meet in the city or family in town, take them to this tourist bar. They are large enough to accomodate big parties and the food is decent. The drinks are decent and they pour a reasonably good pint of Guinness. Occassionally there are live bands and it is always very loud inside but if you sit towards the front, you can still hear each other talking. If you can, try to venture to real Irish pubs in the city. They tend to be a bit better all around.
