The Scene
A series of small, separately enclosed nooks, or "snugs" as they are called in Ireland, provide places for intimate conversation. Dark-wood tones, portraits of famous Irishmen, stained glass and detailed craftsmanship is everywhere. Equal parts restaurant and pub, Foley's draws a strong lunchtime crowd, including Union Square shoppers, and comes alive at night with live music. Irish bartenders are spot on the job with fast service and a joke or two.
The Draw
Live entertainment ranges from traditional Irish music to rock-and-roll cover bands. A downstairs room, the Cellar, occasionally hosts well-known touring musicians and DJ parties. Irish whiskey and draught beers seem to be the drinks of choice. The Irish House is also a hotel for European travelers, many of whom can be found at the bar.

Our first time there and we loved it. Great atmosphere, warm and friendly. Awesome service and great selection on tap we've ever seen. If you're in the area check it out.

Great Irish pub with a fun atmosphere. We were there on a night where we saw a woman on stage - stopped to listen, and this deep voice came out of her mouth! Good times all around.

This place is horrible... I used to go here everyday for a drink after work... Until one day I walked in and they grabbed me by the arm and said "sir you have to talk with the manager." I complied and went up to him he told me "I was never welcome here ever again." When I asked why he told me ....because I had received a complaint about a couple who I had given my business card to, only to try and help them out. He told me that I had shown them a picture of my member which is a total lie!!!! These ladies were obviously upset and made a rumor about me... I told him not to believe their story, that they were lying and he said I don't believe you.. You need to leave and never come back! I was very upset and it made me mad that the place I had gone to and been very courteous and kind did not take my word over some ladies that made up this horrible rumor... DO NOT GO HERE THEY ARE UNFAIR!!!!! Go somewhere else.....

Know Before You Go:
Foley's houses a beautiful banquet room suitable for private parties. Capacity is 40 people for a sit-down meal and 70 for a cocktail party. Contact the bar for reservations.
Save Time:
Order food until 10pm each night. Traditional items like Irish lamb stew and corned beef and cabbage, as well as burgers and sandwiches are on the menu.
Look Good:
Sir Arthur Guinness' stout is well-represented here, but a rare standout is a creamy Caffrey's Irish Ale.
