No one has cooked high-end, modern, exciting vegetarian food longer than Millennium; you could even go so far as to say that they were the first great (and for many years the only great) vegetarian restaurant. The world has caught up to some extent but this is still a very find restaurant.
Food is excellant... Service sucks – When we got there we waited about 10 minutes before the hostess showed up.
Once seated, everyone was great and friendly except our waitress kept on disappearing on us for quite sometime. The food, however was excellent. Definitely try the stuffed squash blossoms and the chocolate lover's dessert. Yummy... nothing wrong with the food here. The ambience was ok, small cobwebs on the ceiling and things are looking a bit run-down but overall a nice cozy place. I would recommend to my friends as long as they weren't expecting to leave quickly. Waiting around for the wait staff might spoil any plans they've made.
the earth moved – My husband - a confirmed meat and dairy lover - accompanied me in a spirit of adventure, but left in awe of the inventive, delectable eats we enjoyed. Our eating experience - every morsel - was nothing short of orgasmic. Try the flourless chocolate cake for dessert, if you have room. Its dairy-free creation proves they work miracles in their kitchen. The one drawback was the dining room's size. Although the decor and ambience please the eye and the spirit, the tables are a bit close together making private conversation difficult.
not for the meat eaters... – I went to Millenium with an open mind about vegan food, plus i had heard great things about the place from vegans to carnivores alike. Although the food was good and the service and atmosphere were nice, it will be a one-time experience for me. There was nothing on the menu that really popped out at me as sounding really good and that I had to try it. My entree and my friend's entree weren't particularly flavorful and didn't really stand out in our eyes. The one thing both of us really enjoyed was the butter-substitute spread they serve with their bread which was something to talk about.
So, in the future, it's not a place I'd revisit, especially since the food isn't cheap or convenient and the only draw was that it was an experience to have eaten at a "fancy vegan" restaurant.
i'm not a vegetarian – and though i am a big fan of the veggie - this was over the top in terms of pure heaven!! go eat here and enjoy nature's food in a gorgeous new way
Service ensures they will never be great – I have eaten here 6 times wanting it to get better and but it hasn't. If it is in this review, it happened to me 6 times... I made reservations and they always sit me 15-20 minutes late even though tables were available. Host(ess) acted snooty and demeaning. Wait staff was not helpful and acted aloof - avoided eye contact with all tables. Even with reservations, they sat me in the front next to people waiting for tables 3 out of 6 times.
