Always a pleasure.
I have been to New Delhi many times and have never once been disappointed. The setting is comfortable and decorated in such a way that you will feel transported to another country.
The food is always delicious even when from a buffet. The only downside is that rice is not included with entrees, which can be a problem if you are having a spicy vindaloo or curry. The service however is always top class, and the waitstaff will always be sure that you have plenty of water!
They have a nice selection of Indian beers to go with a reasonably priced meal.…
Kudos to the chef. Very creative - but still classic - Indian cuisine, but there's a subtly to taste that reflects credit to the chef. It's not just spices but with delicate flavorings that has this restaurant compare favorably to the Michelin-starred Indian restaurants in London. Seating is crowded and servers are nice but a little over-worked. Still, given the price this is a bargain --and a true culinary adventure.…
Worth the travel!. I love Indian food, having had difficulty in finding a good upscale Indian restaurant in SF, New Delhi solved my problem when I discovered it 4 years back. I live in Antioch and travel all the way to Union Square to enjoy this wonderful food....Chicken Tikka is awesome, so is Biryani...i might have tried all their dishes in these years and everything tastes so good, not to mention the naan and samosas...Good food and the owner always greets me like family.…
Awesome drinks and food.
We started in the bar, so I'm starting my review there. It was dark it was raining, all we wanted was to slip into a dry martini. The bartender suggested a lychee martini, apparently they infuse
their own vodka. Sold. Man, that was good. We had just started the second round when our table was ready, so off to food.
Diner was excellent too. Everything is served family style, so sharing is easy. The portion sizes are decent and the nan bread is cooked to order and served screaming hot. All in all, a great evening. I recommend the rogan josh, spicy but not overwhelming.…
Great for locals and visitors. "I took an out of town business client to New Delhi recently and had an outstanding meal and experience. The menu is adventurous and diverse-- very nice selection of classic Indian dishes and chef's specials. Food was well prepared, seasoned, and sauced; had the tandoori chicken, mango prawns and rogan josh. Recommend you share the appetizers and main courses alike to sample as much as possible. Start with the samosas. Excellent drink list, wait staff, and ambience in a convenient downtown location-- close enough to SF public transport. Will be back again with family and clients."…
