I appreciate the employees who are always helpful.. I have always had good luck finding books I like at this store. Perhaps too much luck because I always leave away the poorer. I don't even buy the knick-knacks (sp?) along the line to the checkout counter, but a video here, a children's book there, and I'm always over budget. I do appreciate the employees though who are always helpful.

Shop for books, music and more in a warm, relaxing and customer-friendly environment.. In Short
Originating in Ann Arbor, Mich., in 1971, this international bookstore chain is known for its vast selection of books, movies and music, as well as a comfortable atmosphere. Cozy chairs, scattered tables and music listening stations invite customers to explore and stay awhile. Book and music selections are tailored to the community, giving the shop a local feel. The knowledgeable staff and Title Sleuth inventory computer stations aid inquisitive shoppers.

One of the coolest Bay Area bookstores.. One of the coolest Bay Area bookstores, just for their sheer selection. There's not only a PLETHORA of books to choose from, but munchies too! What's more to ask for? There's a whole section dedicated to self-published authors. It's a must visit every time I'm in the neighborhood.

User review by norcallight. I love stopping by at this borders. They have a great selection of books, magazines, music, etc. And the best part is that you can sit there easily and read through their items while sipping on a coffee from the cafe.

A welcome escape. Whenever I come to San Francisco I escape to Borders

A hot latte and a muffin in the coffee shop , chill out and relax in the silence. An overwhelming respite from a busy business day on the convention circuit.

could use a better music department. All the basics are here. I was disappointed in the cd selection, and, the staff on that floor was fairly unhelpful. In the future, I'll head to Virgin on Market for music.
