THE BEST FOR BASQUE CUISINE!!!

by jen228 at Citysearch

This place is absolutely amazing! Being a member of a Basque family, this place is a staple for weekly dinners. My husband and I even had our wedding reception there, because we knew at least the food would be great. We have never had a bad meal, or service experience in the 20 + years we have been going. Can't top this place!

  • Pros: food, service, culture, parking
  • Cons: i'm not there now!

not what i expected

by Curious Otaku at Citysearch

my co-workers and I came here one night to check out the food. the neighborhood was a bit scary... but luckily they had a parking lot (free parking!).

the food was amazing. i love french food and this place was on the ball. if you're scared of escargo, do not... this place does it good.. and does it tasty! a bit garlicy but very yummy. we had steak, lamb and duck. all very good choices! no one had the special, which was some fish (i forget).. but it looked really good. as for the desserts.. i wasn't so impressed. they seemed regular with a little dash or sprinkle of some special sauce or garnish to make it look special. my sister can make a better creme breule. so save your money on dessert.

Excellent Food!!

by idb99 at Citysearch

The food is wonderful. The chefs are great and the service is wonderful. You get so much food! Soup, salad, and bread comes with every meal, get the nightly special and you also get ice cream )all for like $16). And it's great to see all the Basque Culture going on. It can get busy especially on the weekends so be sure to get a reservation!

  • Pros: Free parking, Great value, Great food!

wouldn't go back

by jbean1016 at Citysearch

The service at this place was horrible. It took forever to get waters, drinks, the attention of our waitress. And she didn't seem busy at all. Most of the time she disappeared into the kitchen. There were a lot of older people dining at this place. The pork chop was good as was the ratatouillie. The nougat dessert was good, but the spumoni ice cream is better. The rack of lamb looked good, but I didn't try it. Since the service was so bad, it took us 3 hours to get out of the place, I wouldn't go back.

  • Pros: parking, dessert
  • Cons: , food, soup was bad

Top Notch!

by lord_humongous at Citysearch

Every meal I have had here is excellent. Lamb, steak, fish . . . it's always great. The ambiance isn't very awe inspiring and it's a bit pricey but you definitely get what you pay for. Every meal comes with salad and delicious soup.

  • Pros: Excellent food, Good parking, Good service
