A festive atmosphere, potent margaritas and wallet-friendly prices lure crowds to this popular Mexican chain..
In Short
With friendly servers and goofy gimmicks, Chevys is a big draw for families and groups looking for a fun, affordable night out. A full bar and a dozen different margaritas attract a happy hour crowd, and a tortilla machine is often surrounded by children watching the dough-to-tortilla transformation. Fajitas, a house specialty, are available with nearly a dozen different fillings, from mesquite-grilled chicken to portobello mushrooms and asparagus. Desserts include flan and sopaipillas.
Filthy. Let's face it, Chevy's is Chevy's and we know what to expect. However, on a late Sunday afternoon, this place was fairly empty and the staff did not look exceptionally busy. The silverware, table tops and chairs were filthly. After a trip to the ladies room, I had to say something because I was fed up with the condition of this restaurant.
It used to be my favorite restaurant and Bar.
I visited the restaurant for my mother's 56TH birthday. While We waited for my family to arrive (wife and I) We decided to sit at the bar. The place was deserted at the time so we could hear the employees in the kitchen using the worst Spanish language I have ever heard in my life. I am Hispanic my wife is not. I mean this type of language would make a longhoreman blush.
I started going to Chevys for the food, the music and the people. Back then It was the place to be (1994-2003)On my last visit the food was cold, the coffee was lukewarm, my expensive drink had more than enough ice to sink a ship. Overall POOR!!!! Music was good though....
