I totally enjoyed my salad with grilled vegetables which was excellent - I loved it. Karina was a great server and very attentive to our needs. The margarittas were tart and salty again I loved it.

Thank you for providing us with such a great evening. Service was better than perfect. The food was incredible and fresh and my margaritas were tasty. I'm so glad we came here tonight instead of staying home and cooking.

Don Picos has the best fish and crab tacos on the Peninsula and I love that they have Negra Modela on tap.

Don't Bother. 6 of us went to dinner for my husband's birthday, our son picked the restaurant. We were seated promptly and from there it went downhill. I forgot to say 'no cilantro' and when my chorizo fundido arrived it was loaded with cilantro, I told our waiter that I should have mentioned no cilantro and that it was my fault, he just shrugged, any other restaurant would have said 'let me bring you another', so I picked out as much cilantro as I could, not fun. I also ordered the trio of ceviche's, what a mistake, there was a big blob of canned crab meat, a pile of little shrimps and cut fish, the fish was good but the rest was terrible. I tasted some of my granddaughters meat and it was so tough I couldn't chew it. I have never been to a Mexican restaurant this expensive, the prices were outrageous. This is the second bad restaurant our son has suggested, I'm thinking I didn't raise him right, that he has no taste! I will never go back to this restaurant, I can close my eyes and pick any Mexican restaurant in S.F. and it would be better than here. Don't go if you like good Mexican food.

The Real Deal!. Don Pico?s offers a true feeling of going south of the border. The overall experience was excellent. The food was served hot, timely with very good presentation. The portion size was large enough even for a hearty appetite like mine. The food satisfies customers even with discriminating taste.

I have been eating Mexican food my entire life and this place really delivers! We were even visited by one of the owners as she sat down to speak with us, a very nice personal touch!

They also feature live entertainment either by a solo singing artist 2 nights per week or a serenade by guitar the other 3 days. They have been in the same place for over 30 years and it appears to be a local favorite.

I recommend you call first, it usually is pretty crowded. It?s not a large place but you will not be disappointed!

Live music after 6!. Been there about 4 times now after work with friends and had great food and great service! Enjoyed the live music (either guitar or vocals) after 6 as well. Not a big guacamole person but its the best I've ever had at this place. Get there as early as possible to avoid waiting. Great place for groups and kids and birthdays as well.

Best Mexican Food of 2007. I recently came here for the first time and was immediately greeted and seated when I walked through the door. They served me one of the best burrito's I have ever had. I would reccomend this pace to anyone I know.

THE WHOLE PACKAGE. IM OF HISPANIC DECENT AND RARELY GO OUT AND EAT WHAT I CAN EAT AT HOME BUT FOR THIS PLACE I MAKE THE EXCEPTION FOOD IS A-1 AND AS FAR AS THE SERVICE ITS NICE TO BE SERVED BY SOMEONE WHO ACTS LIKE THEY KNOW YOU.ONCE YOUVE BEEN THERE A COUPLE TIMES IT ONLY GETS BETTER COMP APPETIZERS AND BEST OF ALL GREAT ALL AROUND SERVICE.BRING BACK THE MOM AND POP REST LIKE THIS ONE!!!!

Great PR - low ROI. Food critics were way off with this place. I should have known "Mexican Bistro" would lead me South. Mexican standards like enchiladas and chile colorado are compromised with extreme eccentricity. Their attempt at gourmet Mexican fails. Sorry amigos, Don Pico's isn't really all that those famed critics at Saveur, Gourmet, and Zagat say it is. Ay Caramba!

Food is a 10, Service is a 2. The food is very excellent and tasty. I wouldn't recommend going on either a Friday or Saturday- the service has been less than satisfactory due to the added crowds, I would assume because of the live music given on those days. However, the food has been wonderful despite the disapointing service.
