Local Y with everything you need. "The Y is all about the people: people who work there, people who volunteer there, and people who are members -- and they are all fantastic. It's a great place with a strong community feeling. Especially if you have kids I would highly recommend it. I would guess most members range from late 20's and older. Lots of different programs for adults and kids. They have a large indoor pool, and having been to a few other nearby pools, I think this one is just as good as any other. And unlike nearby pools, offers affordable swim lessons for kids. Showers are good. This YMCA is a great part about living in Redwood City."

A nationally recognized recreation and athletic center geared toward community improvement.. In Short
The first U.S. branch of the YMCA started in Boston in 1851; there are now more than 2,500 locations nationwide, making it the country's largest nonprofit community service program. Each YMCA reflects the community it's in, offering differing services based on the area. Most include fitness areas with aerobic equipment, classes and racquetball and tennis courts. Many also have day care and after-school programs, as well as summer day camps.
