Skilled, knowledgeable and accommodating. Great prices!

I just recently found this place, using citysearch and tried it out with several pairs of shoes that needed work. I was absolutely thrilled with the results. The older man who owns/operates the place is friendly and accommodating. He stayed open after his closing time to let me drop off my shoes.
I had three pairs to be fixed, one needed new heels, some repair where the wrapping on the heel was ripped, and to be cleaned. He did a wonderful job on all three parts, you can't tell where he fixed it unless you really look close, and he even managed to clean some really dirty light colored suede extremely well. The whole thing was $15. He also did minor repairs like gluing some loose insoles and repairing a small tear in the leather on another pair of shoes, and stretching a third pair. He did all three in just a few days for under $30.
The parking in that area can be a little tricky, but it's nothing compared to parking in San Francisco. The shop hours are convenient, and if you call him he often will let you drop off or pickup late, if he'll be there working. The quality of work is impeccable. I can't recommend this place highly enough.
- Pros: quality work, low prices, accommodating service
The ideal cobbler :)
by GRHood
I had a coat that was not expensive, but sentimental and when I had it dry-cleaned, the black color on the leather cuffs and collar came off. A cobbler in Foster City said it would cost $50 to repair/dye the leather. That seemed steep to me, so I found Broadway Cobbler on Yelp to get another opinon. The shop is impeccably neat, and the owner was professional, courteous, friendly. He looked at my coat and said it would cost about $30. Then he said, "You know, I don't think this is leather and dying it would be a waste of money". He then got out a little bottle of acrylic leahter paint, showed me how to apply it and reassured me that if I had any problems, or questions to come back. The bottle was only $4!! I got home and did what he said and Voila!! It was so simple! The coat looks brand new!! He said that I might have to reapply it from time to time but I don't care! I am so happy. I have 4 pairs of shoes that I also gave him to repair and replace the heels but I am sure I will be pleased. He is honest, prices are reasonable, and I never knew a cobbler's shop could be neat! :) He is the IDEAL cobbler. I didn't know they existed. I highly recommend him.
Solid work, consistent quality

I have brought several pairs of shoes here over the years and am always impressed with the great work. From replacing a simple rubber cap on the bottom of a high heel, to re-wrapping a leather heel that had been badly scraped, to installing taps on my dancing shoes....he does it all. This is a one-man operation and the owner is one of a dying breed....the old school artisan who knows shoe repair backwards and forewards. Plus, he's a really nice guy who always wants to chat a bit whenever you go in (this is both a plus and a minus--especially if you're in a rush and he's still chatting up the customer ahead of you!). But you can't fault the guy for still doing business the old fashioned way!
- Pros: Excellent repair jobs, knowledgeable, quality work
- Cons: street parking is hit-or-miss depending on time of day
