Sure the portions are huge but if food is just so-so, do you really think you will be in there gorging on eats you find to be mediocre? I had an single Enchilada combo with a horchata. Horchata is my only exception to the flimsy review given in the last couple of lines. Then again, I usually love horchata.
Great value and great place to eat. This is a great value and the proportions are big enough for 2 to share. The food is always fresh and excellent. The service is quick, a great place for lunch but it's so good the line is usually out the door so it may be best to call your order ahead of time.
Not bad, not great. Though El Super will certainly work if you're craving a big burrito or a quesadilla, I have to agree with other reviewers that it's not stellar- the ingredients are fresh enough, but there is really not a particular flavor that gives this burrito any special pizzaz, and it can get expensive here. If you're willing to make the drive, head over to La Coroneta in Burlingame- it's about 10 times better.
Carnitas for me. Believe the overall rating and not the negative reviews. This is your good, basic taco/burrito place that's been there unchanged for years. It can still have lines out the door during the busiest times with a crew of 4 or 5 making up burritos--let's see "San Mateo" do that. That bill mentioned above was probably for the super burrito, well worth it size-wise in my opinion.
Way way below average. I love Mexican foods, and this place was not it. Nothing special, and everything less than mediocre. Rice is dry, beans have no flavor, their so called "grilled chicken" is not grilled and no flavors whatsoever, salsa has no spice, and very "watery" guacomole. With a small soda, well over $8.
Purina Goat Chow. I'm shocked that anyone would find this anywhere close to acceptable. For a REAL Burrito with the freshest of ingredients you have to go to San mateo
Best Chicken Burrito. If you like Chicken, then this is the place for you, simply stated. The grilled chicken super burrito, with the works is enough to fill even the hungriest of appitites. Grilled fresh and in front of you, the tender strips of chicken, are only hightened by the natural flavors of the flour tortillas, choice of beans, cheese, sour cream, and the topper, guacomole, of course the regular fixin's are still there, the rice, the salsa. But my recommendation is to get the Super Grilled Chicken, with a Spinach tortilla, along with cheese, sour cream, guacamole, and the green spicy salso, I've never been a fan of cilantro, but their tomato salsa is especially good. Ok, now I'm hungry!
