Charming, divey seaside cafe/bar in Princeton Harbor..
Named for owner and founder Joanne Franklin, Ketch Joanne wears many hats. To surfers, this 35-year-old cafe in Half Moon Bay's Princeton Harbor is a favorite brunch spot. To locals, it's a great dive bar with happy-hour specials. To first-timers, Ketch Joanne is a quaint stop for a pedestrian lunch. With a wood-burning stove as its dining-room centerpiece, and its wood-panel walls plastered with old photos, driftwood, and rowboat oars, this small cafe exudes a decidedly coastal atmosphere; you may even see a bearded sailor smoking a pipe in the parking lot. Served all day, breakfast at Ketch Joanne means an interesting list of specialty omelets—from cream cheese and lox, to linguica, artichoke hearts, and avocado, plus all the breakfast classics: bacon, eggs, pancakes, benedicts and mimosas. Before a long day catching waves or after a relaxing day at the beach, Joanne's is a low-key slice of Half Moon Bay.

Big menu, Has Non Seafood Choices in a Seafood Region.
My wife brought me here several unsuccessful times before we finally dined here together. Seemed like everytime we went just get the timing right.(Example, they are closed on tuesdays). They have a good variety of casual cuisine to choose from. Burgers, Sandwich's, Soups, Salads, Fried Foods, they got it! No exotic ingredients, just good local food. We ordered the fried artichoke hearts and the plate was huge. Artichokes are expensive and we received a lot of food for the price, good value. We ordered the crab shrimp combo sandwich which was slightly runny, but tasty. Order fries and bread, cause it doesn't come with your meal. Soda comes in a can. No frills, but good food.

Best Seafood in Town!.
I had the pleasure of dining at Ketch Joanne's restaurant this past weekend. While the ambience may be lacking the food is absolutely incredible. I had the shrimp and crab louie salad and my mom had the shrimp and crab melt on toasted sourdough bread. We could not believe the quantity and quality of seafood in both dishes. It was unbelievable. The server was very friendly and made several recommendations. We couldn't have had a better meal for under $40. If you don't mind small booths, dark walls, and a casual dining atmosphere this is the place to go for seafood. When I go back to California to visit my family again I will make certain to take a drive to Half Moon Bay to have another fabulous meal here. P.S. Don't go on a Tuesday because they are closed.)
