Fabulous decor. The decor is worth stopping in and having a snack and some saki. Haven't eaten here for awhile - but really loved the interior design. Hopefully the food has improved - if so, I will return! If this isn't what you're looking for, take the drive to Pescadero to the one and only restaurant that serves amazing seafood, homemade soups and pies... only a half hr away from Half Moon Bay! Very casual atmosphere.…
Wonderful Rolls!. My husband and I ate here last weekend - we were out the door with two sapporos for about $50 - most of the rolls are 4.25 which is SO CHEAP! but they were also excellent. We had the pork potstickers which were good and the wasabi gyoza maybe? which were ok....sort of crispy and round. But we really loved the roll with macadamia nuts on it - original and very tasty. Overall I would highly recommend for a fun, great sushi dinner. Our server forgot a couple of items but was very sweet about it - great place for groups or casual...…
try the uni!. i am a sushi lover, and thbis place did not dissapoint. Not cheap, but sushi never is. i suggest the tuna shashimi and the house salad. and saki of course!
Don't Waste Your Time or Money!. The sushi is just "ok" and the service is HORRIBLE! I received the same snotty attitude from the owner that I have seen other people post about (I know she is the owner because her picture is on their website). Having worked in Customer Service, I am shocked that they have managed to stay in business this long with such bad attitudes! I would never recommend this restaurant and am sorry that we wasted money that contributed to their bottom line! You can get much better sushi and service somewhere else!…
Imperialism - Sushi Style.
It's hard to believe the postings that rate this restaurant so highly - probably employees or owners postings. There is no such thing as an off night here. The staff and owners will soon suffer a
loss of business as a result of their rude behavior. The fish isn't always that fresh (we get fresher fish in Florida including Ahi and Ono from Hawaii), the rice is hard (been there 2 times just to make sure it wasn't an "off night").
If I were to compare it to another restaurant it reminds me of the Sushi found in the basement of a train station (take your choice). In my honest opinion I think you can get better food, at much more reasonable prices, and much better service at Bennihanna's in Burlingame. They'll never see me here again.…
