Nicely appointed pasta joint in the artsy kitschy downtown strip in Half Moon Bay. Excellent Service, opt to sit outside if the weather is good. House made pastas fill the void after a long day of walking. They make the best Arnold Palmer here!!

Fabulous food, too busy waitress not too busy to chase us to the door for larger tip $. We thought this was a delightful place. Now a horrible memory never to be visited again! We drove well over 120 miles for a Sunday afternoon meal only to find them closed mid afternoon - our mistake. Planning ahead the next time we spent the night and went for Sunday lunch. Our quest for more of the fantastic food and great service slowly turned into huge disapointment. Once seated, we had to wait quite a while before we could order. Our salad arrived, we waited, our drinks were not refreshed, we waited and finally our dinner arrived. We then waited and waited for our bill. My husband and I always joke about the diminishing tip when the bill does not come in a timely manner. Due to our frustration we left a 10% tip. As my husband's hand touched the door to leave, our waitress came running after us carrying on as though we did not pay for our meal. This being a very crowded area, we felt like we were on public display! Our waitress shamed us and demanded to know why her tip was only 10%. My husband handed her more tip money to hush her up. We were so embarrassed we agreed that it was not a place to visit in the future. Our time was valuable to us as well as the expense of the trip which meant nothing to our waitress. Did she think everyone lives in the neighborhood and has money bulging from their pockets? What a disapointment!

Italian with a twist. Not traditional, but tasty. The decor was cute and intimate in this tucked away restaurant at the front of main street. My wife and I chose this after a change in plans and were plesantly surprised with the choice we made. We arrived early and without a reservation. Without a proper host or hostess, we were worried of what was to come but things got better once we were seated. Our server Richard was pleasant and informative without condescendance. We ordered the endive salad which didn't look like a salad at all, but had a wide variety of flavors and tastes. We split the lasagna, which was not traditional, but was tasty with a dash of red pepper to bring out the flavor and paired nicely with the sausage. For dessert, we had the peanut butter molten chocolate cake which came with a bitter chocolate gelato but when paired with the "lava" seemed just right. We recommend. Kudos to the waterboy whom always refilled our glasses after a few sips.

great food, terrific, precise service, value and romantic!. We were unfortunately stranded in Half Moon Bay on our way home from Santa Cruz which in itself was great because we love Half Moon Bay so we decided to stay over night and persuse the local food scene. We wandered down to Pasta Moon, a local bay area fav and decided to have dinner. What we were in store for was simply fabulous. Being a professional chef I always love new jaunts so we decided to have apps and then dinner. We had the proscuitto dumplings and beets salad. Wonderfully crafted and very delicious. We then had the Muscovy duck with huckleberry demi glace and the papperdelle pasta with proscuitto and sliced black truffles. Very good and very consistent. The Meyer lemon parfait and tiramisu were great as well as the pinot noir. The service was very polished and precise and we never felt rushed. We then crawled back to our hotel room very full and very satisfied. I would recommend this establishment to anyone who enjoys great Italian food!

A disappointment. Our party made a reservation a week in advance. Upon arrival, the hostess snarled "You're going to have to wait at least 10, maybe 12 minutes." Well we waited. And waited, with repeated assurances that they were "just setting our table." After forty minutes we were finally seated. We asked for bread. Ten minutes later it arrived from a surly teenage busboy. Our waitress was incompetent, and the wine list was unbelievable (about 10 bottles under $50, then an embarrassing array of $150+ bottles). When our meals arrived, they served them to the wrong people. We discovered the next day that even the boxed leftovers we brought home had been swapped.

This restaurant is not cheap, and its service should reflect the sophistication of its guests. I have not experienced such an atrocious dinner in a long time, and especially not one with a $250 price tag.

Editorial Review. Organic local produce, seafood shipped from around the world, hand-cut pastas, chicken and steaks cooked in a wood-fired oven.

Small. We found Pasta Moon to be a crowded spot. Very clean, but the service was lack luster. The food was fresh, but a little dull. We were told to wait out on the side walk for 30 minutes for a table. We kept looking in and saw that they had empty tables but we were still waiting. After 50 minutes of waiting and seeing empty tables we told them that we were leaving. The hostess followed us across the street to tell us a table was open. So we went back to eat because it was late. They did not offer us anything to compensate for the longer than anticipated wait out on the side walk at night.
