New Crystal Springs worth the drive. I was absolutely blown away at how GREAT Crystal Springs looks after the new improvements. New carts paths, level tee boxes, new terrain features and bunkers all add to a great experience... and they honored my SF Resident golf card for a discount!! The price is still a little steep ($58 walking on Sat) but course conditions were real good the day I played and I finished in just over 4 hours. Only downside was my hot dog at the turn was cold, no big deal. If you haven't been to Crystal in awhile give it a shot, it was also nice seeing the sunshine after many rounds at Harding & Lincoln in the cold fog.
At Your Own Risk. This seems to be the motto at this golf course. While checking in at the pro shop, it would have been nice if we were advised of the poor, and I mean poor, conditions of the course. It was outrageous. Apparenlty this course has no drainage system. The fairways were unbelievable. The greens and tee boxes were just as bad. While in the fairways, I felt as if I were in quicksand.. a big muddy mess. For the price to place, it would nice if they warned you of the lousy conditions...
Not worth it. Poor fairways and okay greens, reminded me of a wet day at Harding Park. Anytime you see dirt visible through the fairway grass, it's not a good thing. Overpriced.
