Great !!!!

I'm not much of a breakfast person and very picky on restaurants since I don't like eggs. Even though this place was busy, they tried hard to seat us right away. The orange juice was fresh squeezed and so delicious not to mention all the fresh fruit they use for both their pancakes and waffles. The bacon was wonderful as well so we ate their twice on our trip at the Burlingame location.

Busy but good food

Stacks certainly isn't cheap and can sometimes be a long wait on weekend mornings (thank god for the free coffee outside), but once seated I've never had a bad experience. Hefty portions make up for the pricetag, and the scrambles and pancakes will last you the rest of the day. Service is reliable and alert- a good bet when you need a nicer breakfast place

Great Breakfast for Early Risers....

I have been to Stacks in Burlingame several times in the past and I had always enjoyed the food and atmosphere, but the wait bothered me. I went there this weekend with my wife and one year old son and I am completely sold now! The wait was non existent at 8am on Sunday morning. We were seated promptly and the service was outstanding. My son was also treated great as they promptly brought out some oatmeal for him to munch on as we decided what to eat. Our food was great and overall I was extremely satisfied!

not bad, but definitely overrated

i read reviews on several sites, and fail to understand the hoopla surrounding Stacks. first of all, portion size - practically every review that gave a high rating seems to rave about the large portions - is that a sign of quality? i have been there a few times, and the food was OK, but the wait was not worth it. pancakes were standard American ones, waffles were actually pretty good, but i had a crab/seafood fritatta once which didn't have much crab, was a bit rubbery (probably due to the crowds), and came with something they called Hollandaise sauce - I will bet anything that was sauce from a mix, since it tasted of flour. at least a 30-minute wait, and the service can be trying if you arrive on an empty stomach.

• Pros: servers are very nice; coffee is served while you wait; waffles quite good
• Cons: difficult parking; really, really long wait before and after being seated; noisy

best bfast on the penninsula. kid friendly

I love to come here with my family on the weekend. We put our name down, go for a stroll on the ave and then come back and have a great meal. They also have coffee outside for you while you wait. The food is awesome. You cannot find a better breakfast on the penninsula. We've been coming here for years. Try the banana germ pancakes. We also love the bisquits & gravy, the mexican omelette and anything with their bacon. Food is served hot. Service is always great and fast. All the servers are very attentive & good with our two kids. The lady at the front door is really nice. Seems like everyone is having fun at work. We always have a great time at Stacks.

• Pros: FOOD, service, atmosphere
• Cons: sometimes long wait, but go for a walk
