Princess cake is amazing
by ZhenF at Citysearch
it is a great cafe / bakery on Burlingame ave. I always find myself ordering more than necessary when I'm there :) Princess cakes there are my favorite, followed by their strawberry short cake.
- Pros: pastries and cakes
- Cons: crowded on weekends
Breakfast is ok, but horrible carrot cake
by fahzybear at Citysearch
I've been to copenhagen for breakfast before and well it has ok food. Nothing bad but nothing special either. Just regular tasting pancakes and danishes and such. You could buy similar tasting Danishes at Safeway. Well today they totally dropped the ball when I ate their carrot cake. I decided to try buying a carrot cake there for my birthday since the place wuz generally known to specialize in desserts and boy was that a bad mistake. The cake was dry, had a lemon taste to it, had barely any carrot bits, didn't even taste like carrot cake, and the frosting wuz all hard and cheap. It had more of a very dry sponge cake taste. This is coming from a college student that is in love with funfetti (the rainbow bits cake u can make by pillsbury). I've tried carrot cakes from many different restaurants including cattlemens, buckhorns steak house, baker's square, cheesecake factory, max's diner, and safeway. I also generally like cakes from anywhere ranging from safeway/albertsons to Costco to the more expensive by the slice bakeries. This is by far the worst carrot cake I've ever eaten and it cost an arm and leg too! $18!!! Just a bad ending to a good day. (It's my bday today)
- Pros: ok quality
- Cons: crowded restaurant, parking is tough
has gone downhill

Copenhagen was so charming about 10-15 years ago. I used to go there to get really good cakes or have a cozy lunch. Now it's about on par with Le Boulanger- only Copenhagen has higher prices.
- Pros: bakery on-site
- Cons: food is so-so, new dining room is campy
