Great food and tons of character.
I have always loved Marvin Gardens. This is my favorite pizza, hands down. The sandwiches and fish & chips are worth not having pizza once in a while. I have never tried the salads. I miss the old horseshoes pit in the back patio but the raised train track gives some nice action going by without shaking your drink off the table every time it goes by anymore.
A strange Marvin experience..
I've eaten here many times before, although not in the last few years. I returned yesterday for lunch with my wife and 1 year old son. Right off the bat, the bartender seemed "put out" with us. I felt like we weren't welcome. Was it my well behaved son? Was it that I asked to have our beers put on our lunch tab? Was it because we asked for a different cheese on our burgers? All of these requests seem reasonable, but to the bartender, I suppose, they were just too much. I would still recommend the burgers, which are great. The bartender needs to lighten up.
