I was a litte disappointed with my meal at Gin Mon. They have several awards posted in their window for best Chinese in the area so I had high expectations when I went in. The food was not bad, but just mediocre. I also felt it was a little pricey. The portions are good and the vegetables were fresh, but the taste was a little bland. With the proliferation of Chinese restaurants in the SF Bay area I don't think this is a place where I would return.
Pros: fresh vegetables. good service

Not great. Definitely NOT the place to go if you want traditional Chinese food. They use lighter sauces, low sodium soy sauce and overall milder flavors. In fact, I would question whether it's really a Chinese chef back there. BUT, and for some of you this may be a large "but", the meats and ingredients in the dishes are high quality. ie. tender white chicken pieces and fresh, crisp veggies. I guess it's all in the taste of the individual. But their freshness doesn't make up for their lack of authenticity of taste.
Pros: Fast Take-out, Good Parking
