New York-style Jewish delis are a dying breed. These folks are bringing it back, seriously old school. They make everything: the smoked fish, pastrami, corned beef, bagels, rye, all of it.

Brave the lines at this buzzy Mission deli and you shall have your reward...in the form of thick hand-sliced pastrami sandwiches, chocolate egg creams, and perhaps my favorite swirled thing ever--the rich chocolate-veined babka.

Love all the homemade touches here. Very tasty corned beef, but it's the matzo ball soup that really rocks my world. Ditto the smoked trout salad.
