Not a great place.
If you need a place to sleep near the beach or zoo, and don't care about much else, it's okay. It's pretty run down (paint peeling off walls, etc.) bed was okay, pillows were uncomfortable.
The biggest problem we had was it was supposed to be a non-smoking room and clearly the room had been recently smoked in. The bathroom wreaked of cigarette smoke. They claimed it was because it was next door was a smoking room even though the bathroom was on the other side of the room from the smoking room. There was no other non smoking room available.
Also, even though there was a fridge in the room (which we had planned on and brought food to store in it) the fridge did NOT work. We told the front desk, and they said they would send the "maintenance man" to look at it, but it was not fixed the next day. Our food spoiled.
If I go back, I will be trying one of the other independent hotels in the area. Cannot recommend this place.
