Great dining option by the ballpark!. Small 2 story restaurant that is warm and inviting, yet in an industrial way. (It is in the SOMA / Ballpark area after all) But if you live in the area, it's conveniently located on Brannan, it's usually sunny, and it's casual with your standard American faire, including burgers, beer, and a brunch menu. It's close the ballpark, so if you want to spend the day in the area or get together before a game, this is an option.

I'm not wowed particularly by the food, it was good but nothing stands out of the ordinary to me in memory. But what does stand out for me, is that for a group of 9 girls, we were treated with horrible service. They mixed up our group and separated us when seating us, the waitress was slow in bringing out drinks whenever we were out, and she NO patience in taking our orders, she was actually snappy to us.

Really? 9 nice girls that are just there to catch up, munch on some food and have a good time. Also these 9 girls are more than generous tippers.

But oh no she was rude. And when we mentioned it to her colleague, another waiter he got on the defense right away. (As he should defend a coworker.......) But we weren't mean, why so sensitive?

Brunch. The Brick House Cafe is a great place for brunch. They have great eggs benedict and they have $3 mimosas and $5 Bloody Marys.

Fresh bread and ingredients equals good place. Just experienced my first lunch at the Brick House and was very pleased. I chose the Brick House melt and the sandwich was super. Sweet sliced tomoatoes, fresh lettuce, juicy turkey with bleu cheese was the best. From the menu, it seems like this might be a good spot for Happy Hour as well with many good promotions.

The side salad was ok.

Fun place, fun people, good food. I work nearby and met a friend for a quick lunch during the week. Neither of us had the burgers that have received rave reviews but our sandwiches were very good, reasonably priced and the staff was very friendly. I'd definitely go back and try a burger next time, or have a drink after work.

Start your day with breakfast or end it with dinner at this SoMa go-to for plenty of food options and a laid back cafe vibe.. High ceilings, wood beams, comfy nooks, skylights and lots of large windows add to the casual ambience of this roomy neighborhood cafe. Regulars go for the full bar and hefty lunch and dinner specials, including sandwiches, salads, and a fat menu of Wagyu beef burgers with gourmet toppings. Light breakfast fare and coffee are available weekday mornings; on weekends, brunch items include "bennies" (versions of eggs Benedict), scrambles, pancakes and $3 mimosas. During the lunch rush (and there definitely is one), plan on scurrying to find a table--or send your assistant early and have them hold one for you.

BEST burgers in SF. We finally made a point to eat at the Brickhouse Cafe after driving by it many times and wondering what it was like. I called to make sure they were open, and the person who answered the phone was nice and courteous. When I asked if I might need reservations on a Friday night, the woman said that I must be thinking of "Brick", a fancier restaurant in the Tenderloin.

The Brickhouse is very warm and inviting on the inside, somewhat reminescent of a colonial brick house that's been transformed into a restaurant. Dig the large, potted ficus tree in the middle of the first floor and the table with a hole in the middle to accomodate it. The room is ringed with cozy booths and some small table seating. The bar area is very convivial and inviting, and it appears to be a popular happy hour after-work destination. They have a full bar and we enjoyed some creative pint margaritas.... but we came for the kobe wagyu beef burgers. .. and we weren't disappointed. This place has the best burgers-- especially for the money-- we've had anywhere in the City. And we've tried, Balboa Cafe, Joe's Cable Car, Slow Club, etc. We got the three-cheese burgers with bacon and it was divine. We WILL go back. Also, the table service was good and friendly. It's a good value, great food, and fun atmosphere. Check it out!

Airy Bar/Restaurant with good drink specials. We went for happy hour one Friday ($3 for pint draught). It has a lot of windows and dark wood, that gives it a cozy, warm feeling. It's a nice afterwork place to have a drink or have a casual meal.

Great Food / HORRENDOUS, RUDE Service. I've eaten here MANY times as I work around the corner from the restaurant. There is one server who was exceedingly rude to me recently. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and decided that she was flustered and a bit overwhelmed because it was so busy. However, the next time I went back, she was yelling at everybody and just being RUDE as HELL. This is a real shame considering the food is so good, but this server ruins it for me. she's got to go....
