Good view during the day.
This is the place where my fiance took me on our first date.It was great because he made a reservation. The next year we wanted to go their on our aniversary but without reservation, the seated us way in the back where the seat the families I guess. That side was super crowded and noisy and it felt as if it was in a different restaurant because it has different decor and looked so ugly.If you like seafood then you'll enjoy the food there. The scenary is amazing during the day but at night it's so dark that you will only sea the light house flashing from Alcatraz.I think we are going to look for another place for our aniversay :(

Great Food and Environment.
Food and Service is great. My favorites are the Clam Chowder and NY Cheesecake, its the best I have tasted out of all the San Francisco Restaurants I have visited. Its also now become the restaurant where me and my fiance visit every year for our anniversary and Valentines Day for the past 4 yrs.

Is the view transferrable?.
The problem here is that it is in that Pier 39 tourist trap. If you could move the restaurant, and the view, that would improve its accessability and one could expect the prices to come down a bit. The food is pretty good, with a thinner version of the old crabcake stand-by (is it just me or is it just too much to try and plow through the typical hockey-puck versions?) and an excellent pinenut encrusted sea bass.
Otherwise, this place isn't worth the effort or the money because there are about a million great seafood restaurants in SF. Catering??
