One of my top spots for sushi in SF--the presentation is unique, with some cool Cali touches (including excellent sourcing and care). Sit at the counter, bring your plastic, say "omakase," and let the ride begin.

Extraordinary sushi in an improbable location. Love the focus on local and sustainable fish. The kasu hamachi kama is a highlight.

Don't come in a group of 2 or expect to wait over a half hour for your meal. Fresh sushi but not worth a trek.

Although San Francisco isn't a sushi town, per se, even the snobbiest raw fish fans adore Ichi, serving inventive, pristine sashimi, specialty rolls and more. [Eater 38 Member]

Umi Masu Kawa is unreal. Knowledgable service, and well worth the longer wait time for the sushi. Get as many specials as you can.
