Elton John stayed here when it was the Miyako. My wife and I have stayed here twice and it's pleasant stay. It's in Japan Town on Post st which is a good location and everything is decently near by. A down side I observed is that at night it's like a ghost town and creepy to walk while other parts of the city are alive and NOT sleeping. Benihana is directly next door as well as a Japanese Mall w/ fun shopping and restaurants.

I've recommended this hotel to many and they've liked it.

Also yes it is true Elton John stayed there when it was the Miyako AND it's where he had his first sexual experience w/ a man. : /
