Surprisingly good dining experience. My wife and I have been going to Santorini's down the street on Laurel - but lately, the last year or so, they've really been slipping.

So we tried Pilita - and it was a very delightful surprise.

The menu has a lot of variety - we had grape leaf appetizers that were delicious and unique. Both the main courses were very good. Decent wine list.

Service was excellent and ambience was relaxed, warm and enjoyable.

We will definitely go back and explore more of the menu. Its not a cheap outing - I think our tab with a bottle of wine ( reasonably priced for a decent restaurant ) was around $90.

We've only gone once, but I would recommend this restaurant.

What a treat!. Let me tell you, this was a great find. My girls and I were in the S.F. Bay area on March 13th, 2011 and we headed over to San Carlos' Laurel st. to find a nice little late evening dinner. We happened on the Pilita grill just before 9pm and though they were winding down for the evening we sauntered in and were greeted warmly right away. After settling in at a nice comfy table we were treated with a basket of very warm and fresh house baked bread served with a side of tomato and roasted red pepper olive oil puree. AWESOME is the only word to describe this wonderful spread.

After perusing their eclectic and smartly created menu we settled on a couple of different super fresh house special salads and two separate Kabob plates. The chicken was grilled to perfection served with a perfect basmati rice and lightly grilled crisp, fresh veggies. The ribeye beef kobob was perfectly done as well with a perfect blend of pepper and spice and served with the same rice and veggies. I added a wonderful glass of Zin to go along with the meal and with a final total coming in @ around $50 (before tip) I found the entire experience to be a great value. The only thing missing for me was the house special falafel which they were out of to to the late hour and probably a heavy run on the item earlier in the evening for sure. Call ahead if you can't live without it just to be sure they will have enough for you and your party! Call me and I WILL meet you there!
