Cute-as-a-button SF sweet shop comes to the Marina.. Consider this third addition to Miette's local dessert empire an evolution of sorts--like the bed that Goldilocks finally falls asleep in, this sweet spot is just right. Sporting a mint green interior lined with shelves of European-style cakes and jars of long-forgotten candies, the Marina locale perfectly marries the bakery focus of the Ferry Building location and the Willy Wonka-like Hayes Valley candy shop. Sweet-toothed neighbors will revel in the options: teeny tiny macaroons in a bevy of flavors, lemon tarts, triple-layer cakes, decadent cupcakes, foil-wrapped chocolates, hand-made candies, lollipops the size of your head. Fully aware of the healthy (okay, unhealthy) competition from nearby sweet spots like Kara's Cupcakes, Sweetdish, and That Takes the Cake, Miette's pulled out all the stops here--artisan candies, scrumptious baked goods, and tastefully tasty décor--for a sugar shop that's just right.
