My cousin went to University of Texas and the Brick Yard is a Texas bar, so I've spent many a game day imbibing pitchers and noshing breakfast pizzas and nachos at this Marina sports bar.
Citysearch Editorial Review. This second-floor Union Street spot presided over by head chef Aaron Little, formerly of Epic Roasthouse, is close enough to this bustling Marina artery to be lively, but far enough away to feel like a find. Even at peak hours, The Brick Yard never gets as noisy as many places its size. The chill atmosphere, friendly staff, great happy hour ($2 sliders, $7 chicken nachos, $3 drafts), luxe sports bar feel (think large flat screens and tuna tartare) and a small-bites-focused menu (try the warm hummus and Mediterranean salad $10) make it a perfect spot for an after-work drink or relaxed first date, if only such a thing existed. However, it’s important to note that although there are tables in the back, the lively ambiance and limited number of entrée-sized options give it more of a bar-feel than a place for a formal dinner.
