Citysearch Editorial Review. Located in the luxe former home of Conduit, Another Monkey is, as advertised, a second iteration of SOMA's upscale Thai restaurant Koh Samui & the Monkey. Like the mothership, Another Monkey isn't the place to go if you're looking for the standard ginger chicken and pad see-ew: while pad thai can be had, the tastiest menu items are offbeat choices like tom yum shrimp nachos ($10) or pumpkin chicken curry, served in a real pumpkin ($15). Sometimes weird can be bad, though: unless you're a big fan of crudites, avoid the dip-relishes ($10), which consist of a small dollop of ferociously spicy ground pork that's insufficient for the pile of accompanying raw veggies. Service is speedy and welcoming, and the Conduit space looks as lovely as ever, with new Thai statues accenting the signature piping. A well-priced selection of wines by the glass and a top-shelf bar are also nice touches. If you're looking for a Thai-food experience that's a notch above average for variety, cool factor, and price, you could do far worse than Another Monkey.
