Citysearch Editorial Review – Driven by the success of his first restaurant, the wildly popular Green Chile Kitchen, owner Trevor Logan has gone and opened a pie and ice-cream shop. See, Logan moved GCK one short block up the street, keeping the originally space in tact for a sweet-tooth venture. The shop features many of the New Mexican touches found at Green Chile, both in terms of its interior and menu. The space is cozy and rustic but emits a vintage vibe as well. Pies are displayed on old-fashioned cake stands behind glass. The house specialty is the green-chile apple pie with a deliriously delicious (and subtle) cheddar crust served with Straus vanilla ice cream and red-chile honey drizzle. Ice cream hails from Three Twins and comes in interesting flavors, such as milk and honey or the lemon cookie. Specials of the day are scratched on a piece of butcher paper and can include lemon buttermilk with raspberries or the crazily decadent Mexican chocolate pecan pie. Other cool concoctions include the three different types of beer floats, such as the Bison Organic Chocolate Stout with chocolate ice cream. Or go “lighter” with the Bison Organic Gingerbread Ale with cardamom ice cream.
